Now, I know none of you wanted to see th Giants in the playoffs but how lame is this crap? The Braves are gonna have to go face the Stros and the Cards get to play this shit team.. I guess the Cards deserve it but this is awful..

lol.. Watch the Padres knock 'em out though.. haha.. that'd be the biggest choke job is sports by the Cards.

I'm a big fan of both Peavy and Giles, so I don't mind.

They do suck though.

I wanted to see the Gianst in the playoffs. I was sad that Barry couldn't bring his team back into the post season. I hope the Padres get swept, and humiliated.

Thanks for the memories Eddie!

I think if Bonds was healthy the Giants would have won the division. The Padres are just awful (like I said, watch them win..lol)

Giants will prolly be back in contention next year if they do in fact keep Bonds, and he'll be chasing Aaron which a lot of people aren't happy about.

The 1973 New York Mets won the NL East with an 82-79 record (just 1.5 games ahead of SD's current record). They won the NLCS before losing to the powerhouse Orioles in the World Series.

Don't count the Padres out. In a 5-game series, anything can happen.

Sure the Padres' record isn't great, but they did enough to win their division, so you can't knock them for that. It's not the Padres' fault that the other 4 teams sucked ass this year.

And yes, once the playoffs start, everyone is 0-0 and teams with records just above .500 have made (73 Mets as mentioned by Mister D) and won the World Series (87 Twins were like 5-7 games over .500 and won it all), so really the regular season record means little after this weekend.

Nobody in that division deserves to be in the Playoffs.

On the contrary Blitz, I expect most people would have rather seen the Giants in the playoffs than the Padres. The Padres are crappy and boring. The Giants had Bonds which if nothing else, made them more interesting, and they weren't that crappy either once Bonds returned. I believe they've been well over .500 with Bonds in the lineup this year.

Not really, the Yankees will always hold the biggest choke artist award for their spectacular job in the 2004 ALCS.

Not in this forum..haha.. I've talked to alot of people who just wish Bonds would retire. In my opinion he's still the best player I've ever seen even with all the controversy surrounding him, I still love to watch him play.

Simon and Mister D are glad the Padres got in I bet.
