Hmm.. I can't help but think this is directed towards me. I do get excited every year Simon, because they are always in contention. I'd be pissed if they were below .500 every year.
Is it a worthless accomplisment? No.. not at all. Their fans have hope every year. We never have to say "wait 'til next year".. We are always in the mix.
Give me a team that the Braves have lost to that was less talented than them.. Maybe the Padres, but that's it..
They prolly should have knocked off the Yanks in '96 but their bullpen blew it. Shit happens.
They do have the one championship against a Cleveland team that nobody was picking against, so I'm happy with that. And then this year, they have at least 8 rookies on th roster at all times and still win the div. with the Marlins who are a lot more talented of a team..

I remember not too long ago you were ripping the A's fans for not swhowing up to support the teams even though they were really good. I don't know why I didn't think of this then, but that was somewhat hypocritical of you seeing as your favorite team has the same problem. At least the A's would sellout all their playoff games, instead of playing in front of a 2/3 capacity crowd.

Wasn't my argument about the team's payroll and how if the fans showed up more often the A's would be able to spend more?
You have every right to bash the Braves fans because some of them are a disgrace. However, the Braves still pour in $ 85+ million into the team every year.
I didn't mean to bring up the whole arguement again, I just thought I'd point that out. It does help, however, when your team is owned by Ted Turner.
True. But AOL are a bunch of assholes. I fear the Braves won't be good for long, and then I'll be crying about the salary structure like everyone else outside of Boston and New York.
