| Happy Birthday A-Rod Today is Alex Rodriguez's 30th birthday. A few interesting stats I heard on the radio this morning A-Rod has more career homeruns than Hank Aaron had on his 30th birthday A-Rod has more career RBIs than Hank Aaron had on his 30th birthday A-Rod has more career hits than Pete Rose had on his 30th birthday A-Rod has more career runs scored than Rickey Henderson had on his 30th birthday I'm also sticking with my belief that A-Rod will be the first player to reach 800 homeruns for his career | |||||||||||||||

| One more thing... No right-handed hitter has ever hit 20 homeruns in Yankee Stadium in one season. A-Rod has 17 homeruns at home this season, with 32 home games left to play | |||||||||||||||

| He plays for the Yankees. He's also the highest paid player in the history of American sports. In 2000, he signed a 10-year contract worth 252 million dollars | |||||||||||||||

| I'm not saying you should know him. I'm just saying who he is. Every American sports fan knows who he is, though | |||||||||||||||

| I used to like A-Rod, when he was on my rangers! ut the way he left, forget him. I like mike young anyway. but he is a awesome player. And yeah I also agree he will pass the record and be the all time great. That is, if he stays healthy. | |||||||||||||||

| I think A-Rod was kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place in Texas. Tom Hicks offered him a lot more money than any other team offered, because he wanted to make absolutely sure that A-Rod would come to the team. and people always shit on A-Rod for that, but how many people would seriously turn down that kinda money? So, he came to Texas, played great (look at his numbers those three years...much better than the numbers he put up at Seattle or New York), but the team couldnt afford to pay any other decent players, especially after the terrible Chan Ho Park signing. I dont think he was desperate to get out of Texas, but I also think he realized that only Boston and New York could afford to pay his salary and still be able to surround him with good players, and also that Texas would get a lot of talent for him (as they did with Soriano) and be able to pay other good players with the money they would be saving not having him on the team. honestly, I think the deal worked out well for both sides. As much as I loved Soriano, A-Rod is still better than him, and Texas still got an All-Star caliber player, a legitimate 40-40 threat, and can now afford to pay guys like Teixeira, Blalock, etc. | |||||||||||||||

| yeah i know what your saying, texas is still paing A Rod lol. But i do to think it is for the best. And I understand. Who wouldent want to play for another team with that much money and a better chance to go to the world series. Texas is thinking about trading soriano. He has a good bat, but his fielding is horrible. He is still a good guy to have on ur team though. | |||||||||||||||
