As it got down to the final 10 teams I was really starting to think he could go to Chicago. Man, that would have been sweet.

Having said that, Pittsburgh was the worst team in the league last season so they can sure use him. They would have probably gotten 1st pick overall had there been a season last year.

Pittsburgh has some luck with drafts. Two years ago they got Marc-Andre Fluery, who has a great career ahead of him I firmly believe. Then of course, Mario in '84.

It's a good place to start, and I was very happy that teams like Detroit, Vancouver, New Jersey & Colorando got eliminated early.

By the way, how weird was it that the defending champs got last pick? Same as what would happen in a regular draft year.

Vancouver is actually picking 10th.

I was so excited when the three Canadian teams were still on the board at 10, and especially Montreal when it got down to the final five.

That said, there's a good chance Crosby just saved hockey in Pittsburgh, which is a good thing. And seeing him play with Mario will be awesome.

Edmonton got completely jipped for a two ball team, twenty-fifth pick is absolute balls to say the least, the only slight silver lining is the fact it's one pick ahead of Calgary. And did anyone see Florida at twenty-nine, poor bastards.

Well...as the board's only Penguins fan..(believe it or not..I am a Pens fan) All I can say is..


Fuck yeah!!


1st we get the cap of $39 million so that we can compete with the Detroit's and Colorado's of the world and now we get lucky as fuck and land the best prospect to come along in a good while..Although, I've heard good things about the Russian that got drafted to the Capitals last year.

Anyway, this kid couldn't have gone to a better place..He's got Super Mario to learn from and a city who loves hockey supporting him.

Make no mistake, I'm not a huge hockey fan, I still like baseball and football better, but I'm pretty damn excited about this..
