With the MLB trading deadling fastly approaching..........

What do certain teams need? A new firstbaseman? Closer? Catcher?

I will add what I think will happen later today when I get to work. I just wanted to start the thread. I friggin love the month of July as a MLB fan. Its very exciting to think of all the possibilities that are out there for all the teams.

Also, with the advent of the MLB wildcard, more teams think they are in it and are less willing to ditch their few good players.

But guarunteed, some huge name will be moved. Its happens every year.

Yeah, so I just heard that Schilling is coming back as a temporary Closer for the Sox to replace Foulke..Is that nuts or what?

I think we know that the Sox need more bullpen help, so they'll be looking around for a couple middle men or some shit.

The Yanks could use a starter, a reliever, and a defensive outfielder. I say the Yanks get Kotsay to go in the CF postion and make Bernie the full time DH. Then the Yanks will try to swing something for a Schmidt or a Zito, but will prolly end up with a C+ starter...

The White Sox could use another power hitter but the way Frank Thomas has been hitting maybe not..He's been putting up some dingers quickly. So the Sox could use a middle man maybe and not much else. The question will be whether their awesome starting pitching can hold up through the playoffs and I say no.

The Twins have a solid bullpen and aren't going to be able to do much with the lineup so they'll go out and get a C starter and that will be it. They'll lose in the first round again, if they make it.

The Indians will most likely stick with the team they have and maybe try and add some depth in the off season. The have a good young nucleus and I wouldn't fuck with it.

The Angels are the most complete team the American League..I really think they just need to stay healthy and they can win the Series with the guys they have.

The Rangers need starters bad, but I'm not sure if they can pull a big deal for Zito seeing how he's in the same div. Plus, Beane hates the Yanks so Zito might just end up in the NL or maybe just stay with the A's...The big rumor of course is that the Rangers want to see if Clemens will stay in Texas but move to them for the pennett race. I think the Astros will look to move Clemens to either Texas or the Yanks if they are out of it, but right now they are getting back in the Wild Card for the NL, so maybe Clemens stays.

I'll be back to talk about the National League a little later.

I have this horrible feeling that the Giants are going to trade away their farm system for Jaime Moyer and a couple of hot dog vendors....
