I was having a chat with somebody at work today about this. And i disagree, I really don't think it would be a Terrorist threat. I know that the tragic events of 9/11 happened in NYC but I don't think it's any more a possibility (that being a terrorist attack) that it would be in another country.

That's just my opinion, and I am in no way discounting the travesty and disaster and pain that occurred in 2001.

I actually think that because of 9/11, the US would be more prepared to handle a terrorist attack than anyplace else. But, lets just all hope that nothing happens no matter where they hold the Olympics in the future

By the way, did you guyd hear what Jacques Chirac was saying about England before they landed the Olympics? Apparently he said "The only thing England has contributed to European agriculture is mad cow disease" and "The only place in Europe with worse food than England is Finland"

Which prompted the guys on ESPN radio to say "If I'm a Finn, I'm saying to myself Hey, I'm Jari Kurri, what did I do to deserve that?"

I was actually very happy when I heard London had won the games for 2012.

For once the entire country will see their tax money go onto something interesting and something that works instead of seeing it plowed into pointless or failing institiutions.

Roll on 2012 I can't wait.

That's awesome. And to make it better, I am scheduled to complete my teaching degree in 2010, and am going to teach in England for a few years! The only thing I noticed when I was in London was that it's already so crowded, where are they going to put everything? There is no room to build!

^^^ It'll be all over London. If you go to www.bbc.co.uk/sport there are a few good links/maps to show where it will all go, but the main stadium will be in the East End of London in Stratford which is mainly industrial and waste land now.

On a visit to London it's unlikely you'll have been out there as a tourist/holiday maker unless you knew people living out there.
