The Cubs are gonna get their pitching back eventually, and the lineup isn't that bad. Lee is having a monster season, Walker looks good, Ramirez can put up numbers, Patterson is gonna have his usual season, Perez is solid, and Burnitz is heating up. It would take a miracle to get Nomar back, but I have that much faith in their lineup right now to foget about him. Yeah, the bullpen is a mess, but who's isn't? I just think they will have enough games against bad teams and all the teams in the East will beat up on each other. Are you sold yet?

My hatred for all Cubdom aside, I feel bad for Mark Prior. Dude has awful luck with his health, he's not even getting a chance to ride that arm to the Hall of Fame like it looked like he would a few years ago. I'd still take him on the Sox in a hearbeat. When it comes down to it, injuries or no, its still the Cubs. And they still have Dusty Baker managing them. They're on a one-way trip to Nowheresville, and I'm loving it. ![]()

| Well, I have been known to be wrong now and then. Just wait til you see my football picks in the fall lol. ![]() Regarding the Cubs though, I'm dead-on right. I promise. See, here's the thing with Sox fans...we hate the Cubs and especially their fans. Their fans are why we want to see the Cubs fail. We don't care what the Sox are doing, as long as the Cubs lose its all good. Cub fans spend all year coming up with impossible scenarios about how the Cubs are going to win it all. They think their team is the epicenter of the baseball universe, and honestly most of them know very little about baseball. Its all "CUBS!! WOOOOOO!". That's your typical Cub fan. Us Sox fans usually make a pretty good evaluation of our team early on, and then just accept it. Usually that evaluation is "they suck again" or something along those lines, and we grouse and complain about what management should do, but we're realists. And then once we've accepted the fact our season is over (even if its May) we then focus on the misery in Wrigleyville for our summer enjoyment. Meantime if Reinsdorf is putting garbage on the field, we don't go to the ballpark. Cub fans flock to the world's largest beer garden in hopes of being on tv and to be at the "in" scene. We don't care about that. We just want a winner. We don't even want disenchanted (read: fair weather) Cub fans coming over to Comiskey (I will never, ever refer to it as US Cellular Field. Ever.) and spreading their idiocy under the guise of being Sox fans. We don't want their well wishes. | |||||||||||||||

| Haha..that's awesome. The Braves don't have a rivalry like that. It's just "Ok..we're here to beat the Mets ass again" and then we move on and the Mets worry about what the Yanks are doing, for what reason, I don't know. Then the Braves win the division and have something go wrong in the playoffs. If they can pitch, they don't hit. If they hit, the bullpen fucks it up anyway. It's sad, but at least I have 1995 to look back on. I guess you look forward to the Bears most seasons? ..lol | |||||||||||||||

| Sadly yes, and look where that's gotten us lol. Seriously, most years we're counting down to training camp by Memorial Day. What's funny is that if you look at the standings since '90, the Sox have finished first three times (including the '94 strike year) and I believe second every other year except for one third place. And every year they didn't come in first, by the end of May we just knew and we dealt with it and moved on to laugh at the Cub fans. Remember the so-called "White Flag" trade of '97? Where Reinsdorf said anyone who thought they could catch the Indians was crazy (even though they were only 3.5 games out), and then traded away most of the better players? He was right. We could have been tied with Cleveland at that point and it still wouldn't have mattered. The only reason the Sox were just 3.5 out was because Cleveland was playing poorly, not because we were playing that well. But again, Sox fans identify this and accept it. I really wish MLB would realign so the Sox and Cubs were in the same division. I would love that sooooo much. I mean, its nice winning the 6 game series most years, but beating them 12 or so times a year and costing them the division? Priceless. | |||||||||||||||
