Let's hug it out bitch.
| The Yankees Holy shit, they really can't get their shit together. Your Brian Cashman and you have 1 month to fix it or your fired. So fix it but be realistic please. Try to keep the payroll under 976 million if you can | |

| Well, the Yankees are a streaky team...they're an all-or-nothing team. They dont manufacture runs, they just sit back and wait for a three-run home run...thats why they'll get hot and win 10 in a row, then get swept by the Royals This is their current roster: Catchers: Jorge Posada, John Flaherty First base: Tino Martinez, Jason Giambi, Russ Johnson Second base: Robinson Cano, Rey Sanchez Shortstop: Derek Jeter Third base: Alex Rodriguez Left Field: Tony Womack Center Field: Hideki Matsui, Bernie Williams Right Field: Gary Sheffield, Ruben Sierra Starting pitchers: Randy Johnson, Carl Pavano, Mike Mussina, Kevin Brown, Chien-Min Wang Relief pitchers: Mariano Rivera, Tom Gordon, Paul Quantrill, Tanyon Sturtze, Mike Stanton, Buddy Groom Personally, I think this season is lost, and they gotta plan for next season. But, if I HAVE to do something for this season, this is what I do: This first one is going to be a shocker, but I trade Randy Johnson. He's a big game pitcher, but he's not made for New York. That was obvious from the first day he was here, when he got into an altercation with a member of the media. I dont think he has the make-up to handle the off-field stuff in NY. So, you trade him to a borderline contender (outside the division, preferably an NL team) with the money to pay him...San Fran or Philly, perhaps. In return, you get a serviceable arm to plug into the rotation and a utility player...someone who can pinch-hit, pinch-run, bunt, move runners over, plays good defense, etc. Then, I see if any team in need of bullpen help has any interest in Tom Gordon. The Cubs would be the obvious choice. Then you make Sturtze the set-up man, let Groom be the lefty guy, and only pitch Stanton or Quantrill in blowouts Then, I buy out Jason Giambi's contract and get him off the team. He cant play the field, he cant run, and he cant even hit any more. He can draw walks, but thats about it. He's simply eating up a roster spot. Get him off the roster, and call up someone from the minors to at leat get some experience. Secondly, I start taking chances. I read somewhere that Zimmer was the balls of the coaching staff, and Torre was the conservative one, and I kinda believe it. They rarely steal bases anymore (besides Womack), even when the situation dictates it (Wakefield being caught by Varitek, Piazza catching, etc.) I start running more. I want Jeter, Womack, and A-Rod to all finish the season with at least 30 stolen bases. I want at least 10 out of Sheffield too. Then, I try to see if anyone, anywhere has ANY interest in Kevin Brown. I would give him away for table scraps. He's gone at the end of the year, so you might as well see if you can get some minor-leaguers for him. | |||||||||||||||

| Umm, Bike. There is one reason why the Sox payroll is what it is..... ![]() All we are doing is trying to keep up with the Joneses. How the fuck else are we supposed to compete? Sure the Sox payroll is something like 120-130. But the Yankees top that by 100 million dollars. Doesnt that sound a little nuts to you? There are a few "big market" teams that the Sox do battle with for free agents. There is Altanta, St.Louis, Dodgers, Angels, Baltimore, Seattle, Texas and many others that have payrolls similar to the Sox. Sure they arent as much but they also dont bang out the ballpark for 180 straight games like Boston does. We don't care about payrolls amongst the big market and small market. The only problem is that there are 3 groups, not 2. The Big Market teams The Small Market teams & The Yankees. Its just flat out ridiculous. The fact that they arent even smart about using their endless cash is what pisses people off even more. | |

| Well being from Cleveland where our big free agent signings were the washed up Aaron Boone and Juan Gonzalez I can say I despise both the Yanks and Sox equally for completely changing what it takes to be competitive team in Major League baseball. In my opinion Boston and New York fans look at their teams a whole lot differently than fans of the small market teams. Frankly, there is no excuse for New York to not win the World Series every year and if for some reason they don't than Boston should. Each team has an overwhelming advantage economically and the whole lack of a salary cap or effective revenue sharing has really turned me off baseball the last couple of years. Even when the Indians had a series of great teams from 1995-1998 pretty much every Clevelander knew that someday soon the bottom would drop out because their once great young players Albert Belle, Carlos Baerga, Kenny Lofton, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Omar Vizquel, Sandy and Robby Alomar, would eventually either get old or price themselves out of Cleveland's price range. Despite selling out the most games in Baseball history at Jacobs field 435 I believe was the number, the Indians were not able to support a bloated parole in the same vein of the Red Sox or Yankees and this subsequently led to the deconstruction of the team and the trading away or loss through free agency of all the teams home grown talent. It is for this reason that I will always root against Boston and New York, nothing personal against your guys' teams and I know that if I was in your shoes I'd be rooting for the home town team too, but I have nothing but hate for the "big two" in baseball. | ||||||||||||||

| I don't care what anyone says, that Yankee team should NOT be losing to the Brewers and the Royals...they are 0-5 against these teams. They lost three in a row to the D-Rays earlier this year.. There is seriously something wrong with them and they need to start winning some games in a hurry..That goes for the Red Sox too. You guys do realize that the Wild Card isn't coming out of the East this year don't you? The Chi Sox and Twins are both going to beat the hell out of the rest of their division. | |||||||||||||||

| The Wild Card shouldn't come out of the East - the Yankees and Boston missing the playoffs would be the single greatest thing to happen to baseball in the past 10 years. | |||||||||||||||

| I forgot to add the part where they trade for Shawn Chacon and pick up Aaron Small and they go a combined 8-0 or whatever they've done... | |||||||||||||||
