Have you stopped watching yet? Have you even started watching?..lol Celtics got mauled..wow, what a dissapointment. Anyway, here's my take on round two if anyone cares.
Western Conference Spurs vs. Sonics:
This one should be a much tougher series for the Spurs than the Denver one. The key to this series to me is Ray Allen. Allen was the star of the series against Sacramento averaging over 30 pts. per game. The problem here is that the Spurs will have Bowen and or Manu guarding Allen and Manu working Ray on the other end of the court. I don't believe in James just yet and Rashard Lewis is overatted. Duncan will be a force and the Sonics won't have an answer.
Pick: Spurs in 6 Suns vs. Mavericks:
Well...just like the Spurs the Suns should have their hands full this time around. The thing with this series is that neither team will let up...These could all be games played in the 120's like the old days and that could be good for the league. The difference here to me is Amare Stoudemire. I know Nash just won the MVP but the Mavs have guys that can play in the backcourt. Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse thrashed the Rockets and I think they'll do the same to the Suns. Dirk will also have a better series here then against the Rockets but nobody can cover Amare and he will get the Dallas bigs in foul trouble the whole series. This one will come down to the last game I think and with the homecourt the Suns will take it.
Pick: Suns in 7 Eastern Conference Heat vs. Wizards:
The Wizards have a nice little team with Arenas,Jamison, and Hughes but it won't be nearly enough. Wade, Jones, and the other Jones will match pretty much everything the big three of the Wizards do and that leaves...well lets see..Shaq and Alonzo vs. Etan Thomas,Brenden Haywood, etc. Who you gonna take in that?...This series won't be close but I'll give the Wiz a game.
Pick: Heat in 5 Pacers vs. Pistons:
If Ron Artest was playing in this series I might have actually gone with the Pacers, or at least it'd be a lot closer. The Pistons don't have as good a bench as they once did and Artest would have locked down someone from the starting lineup. Also, Reggie Miller playing on 'till his retirement after the season, you know he wouldn't have gone quietly. I still don't think he'll go quietly, but the Pistons just have too much fire power. Jermaine O'Neal will be harassed by Ben Wallace and then he'll have to play D against Rasheed Wallace on the other end unless they try a smaller forward but then Sheed would have at least a 4 or 5 inch height advantage on the arc. The only reason this series will even be competitive is because Carlisle is a great coach and the Pacers have a lot of heart.
Pick: Pistons in 6
