I'm sure the Yanks will turn it around but damn...this is unbelievable right now...What do you think Mister D? ..I know their pitching has been awful but I haven't been following the Yankee games real close the last week or so..what's going on? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| What makes you think they will turn it around? Just because they are the Yankees? They clearly are in complete disarray. Its nice to see someone else besides New York in first place for a change. | |||||||||||||||

| Well...two things make me think they might turn it around.. 1. Yes..they are the Yankees..and everytime I want to bury them they come back and bite me in the ass. 2. They have unlimited resources...so if Bernie is really done..they can get another outfielder. If Gordon doesn't work out, they can get another middle reliever. I'd be a little worried about their starters though..you can't just go out and pick up a battle tested starting pitcher who won't crumble under the pressure anytime you feel like it. I hope they are done though...lol Sorry D, I'm a Yankee hater. | |||||||||||||||

| The Yankees have three MAJOR problems 1. Pitching - Both the starting rotation and the bullpen are in total disarray. Randy Johnson is still Randy Johnson, and I still trust Carl Pavano. But Mussina was pretty bad last year (but, to his credit, he really stepped it up int he playoffs), Jaret Wright was a fluke last year, and the two rookies have been so-so. But the bullpen is more of the problem. Besides Rivera, NOBODY in the Yankee bullpen can get anyone out. Gordon, Quantrill, Rodriguez, Stanton...they ALL suck. I never thought I'd say this, but the Yankees desperately need Tanyon Sturtze to get healthy 2. Age - They are the oldest team in the majors. They only have 1 regular player under 30 (A-Rod, who turns 30 this year). The new second baseman is young, but he's already proven he's not the next Soriano. They could have signed 27-year old Vlad Guerrero, but instead they signed 35-year old Gary Sheffield. They could have signed Carlos Beltran to replace Bernie, but they didnt pull the trigger. Hell, their ace is 41 years old!!! 3. No contact hitters - Fact: During the 4 seasons that the Yankees won the World Series in 90's, not a single Yankee hit 30 homeruns. These days, the Yankees just sit back and wait for a 3-run homerun, instead of manufacturing runs like they did in the 90's. In the 90's it went like this. Knoblauch reached base, Jeter advanced him, then O'Neill, Bernie, or Tino singled or doubled to drive him in. They just dont do that anymore. Sheffield, Matsui, A-Rod, Posada...they just swing for the fences every at-bat. That's why they'll score 10 runs one game, then get shutout the next three nights. It's all or nothing with them. I mean, I still have faith that they'll turn it around. They just have too much talent to be a sub-.500 team. But they are seriously flawed | |||||||||||||||

| Well..I think Matsui is an "Old" Yankee if you will...I see him take what he's given and go to the opposite field if he has to. They do have a lot of people who just swing for the fences though. Even Baltimore has two or three really good contact hitters. They are trying to build the team like they did in the 80's and we know that didn't work out. George has lost his mind...then I hear about them interested in Preston Wilson?...are you kidding me..that guy strikes out 150+ times a year. | |||||||||||||||

| Yeah, Matsui is pretty close to one of the "Old" Yankees. He's actually my favorite Yankee besides Jeter and Rivera Oh, and I didnt even mention that fucking ****sucker Kevin Brown in my earlier post. Worst. Yankee. Ever. | |||||||||||||||

| sorry...I just dont have much to say about them, haha. They're just kinda there. They dont have any real stars (except maybe Roy Halladay), and dont get much publicity. Unlike you-know-which two teams | |||||||||||||||
