Pretty interesting stat I just uncovered...A-Rod, for his career, has averaged 42.3 homeruns per season

His pace for this season: 42.3

Aint that something?

Quote from tonight's starter for the Yankees, Tim Redding (New York state native)

"I can now die a happy man, because I put a Yankee uniform on

I love hearing things like that

hahahaha. They already designated him for assignment after the debacle on Friday night

Anyway, let the record show that the Yankees, whom most people left for dead, are now only a half game out of first place, and tied with Minnesota for the wild card lead.

wow, looking over the schedule, the Yankees have a brutal stretch coming up. First, off their last 9 games have been against teams with winning records (7-2 in that stretch). Now, 25 of their next 31 are against teams with winning records. They play:

3 games @ Texas
4 games @ L.A. Angels
3 games vs. Minnesota
3 games vs. L.A. Angels
3 games @ Cleveland
3 games @ Toronto
3 games vs. Chicago
4 games vs. Texas
3 games @ Tampa Bay
3 games @ Chicago

So, in their upcoming schedule, they are on the road for 19 of their next 31, all of their home games are against teams that are above .500, and they have 13 games against first-place teams (L.A. and Chicago). This stretch could make or break the season. After this stretch of games, there are still 41 games left this season, mostly against division rivals

The way the Yanks have played Tampa this year it's almost like another .500+ team they have to beat..

It's a very tough schedule, but we'll all finally find out what this team is made of.

They announced yesterday that Tedy Bruschi will be out at least for the entire 2005 season. It's a big loss fo rthe Patriots, but of course, his health is the #1 priority
