| Well, I just read that A-Rod will be playing for the Dominican Republic, instead of the U.S. That sucks So, make Rolen the starter at 3rd, and put David Wright on the bench | |||||||||||||||

| Oh, and Sheffield's feelings on this thing are well known. Since the team I assembled is stacked with CF's (Hunter, Edmonds, and Damon), I'd have to look for another RF | |||||||||||||||

| Besides the fact that Barry Bonds would never participate in something like this (just like Sheff), I would never select him to it in the first place. Fuck him and I hope he never plays baseball ever again | |||||||||||||||

Anyway, I think Bonds will be back and he will break the record just to piss people off. He feeds off of negativity. And you know what? The players and owners and everyone else involved in baseball will talk about him being quite possibly the best to ever play the game, and there will be NO mention of possible/probable steroid use..Even Hank Aaron will embrace him..I guarantee it.

| Its not the steroids issue, it's the fact that he's a dickhead who doesnt appreciate the fans or his teammates | |||||||||||||||

| and besides, it really doesnt matter how many home runs Bonds hits the next two years (i cant see him playing past 2006), A-Rod is just gonna pass him in 10 years. And then Albert Pujols 10 years after that (assuming Pujols is as young as he says he is) | |||||||||||||||

But yeah, if A-Rod stays healthy he'll have a good shot at the record. I'm just saying that people like Hank Aaron will give Bonds a hug when he breaks the record, and it will piss people off.. On a side note, I never thought I'd be talking about my boy Andruw Jones as being a possible hall of famer, but he's 28 years old, is on the verge of 300 career home runs and is the best CF of his generation... I think he's gonna get in. And lastly, seeing how we are talking baseball, can you believe that there are only 2 people in the history of baseball with 3,000 hits and 500 home runs? And guess what? Rafael Palmeiro is going to make that club..It's insane. I never think of the guy as being great, he's never won an MVP, he's never lead the league in homers or RBIs but his fuckin' stats are mind blowing..

| If Palmeiro plays next year, he's gonna get close to 600 homeruns for his career And amazingly, people still argue that he's not a HOF'er. Ridiculous And yeah, I know I'm jumping the gun a little on A-Rod and Pujols, but they're just incredible hitters who got off to early starts, and have been healthy their whole careers up to this point. A-Rod might be hurt a little playing in Yankee Stadium (I'd guess that it will cost him at least 3 or 4 home runs a year). I just calculated that at his current pace of 42 homeruns a year (which would take into account a great 50 home run year, as well as a "sub-par" 35 homerun year here and there) A-Rod would break the record 8 years from now, at age 37/38 (his birthday is mid-season, so it would depend on when exactly he gets there). I know its a long ways off, but he's got as good a shot as anyone to do it. If he plays into his 40's (like aaron did) he could even make a run at 800 homeruns | |||||||||||||||
