Interesting note:

Since 1984 (22 seasons), only 6 NBA franchises have won the NBA championship:

Boston twice (84, 86)
Lakers six times (85, 87, 88, 00-02)
Detroit 3 times (89, 90, 04)
Chicago 6 times (91-93, 96-8)
Houston Twice (94-95)
San Antonio 3 times (99, 03, 05)

oh, and in that same time period I mentioned above, there have been 14 different MLB champions, and at least 11 different NFL champions (there may have been more, but I dont think so)

Its amazing that those few teams have so dominated the sport the last 25 years. Also, if you take out the 76ers 1983 championship season, the three NBA champions before that belonged in that select group. So, since 1979, those 6 teams have accounted for 25 of the 26 NBA championships. amazing

I just heard a weird stat on the radio.

Carlos Beltran has 9 Homeruns. 8 of them hit when Pedro starts.

P.S. The Yankees are still terrible.

Broken leg lands Halladay on DL

Roy Halladay, SP TOR

News: Roy Halladay will miss at least a month because of a broken bone in his left leg. He sustained a non-displaced fracture in his lower left leg when he was struck by a line drive. The Blue Jays put their ace on the 15-day DL on Saturday and expect him to be out 4-6 weeks. "Missing the time ... that's the most disappointing for me," Halladay said Saturday. "I just wanted to have a full season and be here with us for the full season." Halladay is 12-4 with an AL-leading 2.41 ERA this season. He'll return to Toronto during the All-Star break to begin rehabilitation.

Analysis: Leaning on crutches with a boot cast extended to just below his left knee, Halladay said Saturday he doesn't want to sit out long. "Hopefully after a week, I can start putting pressure on it, walking on it," he said. "After that, from what I hear, it's whatever I can tolerate. Hopefully, I can start playing catch and things in a week. If I can keep that there, it shouldn't be a huge problem. I don't want to miss that much time in throwing and have to have a mini spring training."
