I was hoping the Bears would get Braylon Edwards since WR is still a pressing concern, but since he was gone I figured Cedric Benson was the best move for them at 4. However...

I've since seen interviews with and features about Edwards and his mom, and all I can say is...yikes. Cut the apron strings already. I'm glad Edwards was off the boards at 4, he seems like another David Terell. I don't know what it is about Michigan receivers. Time will tell though.

Still not sold on Benson either, his near crying jag was a bit off-putting for me. He also seemed to fail to realize that most of what he went through in the pre-draft process was the same thing everyone else had to go through, sans the Ricky Williams comparisms. I also don't think its time to give up on Thomas Jones either. Aside from a couple injuries he did pretty well last year, considering the offense he was working in. If the Bears wanted a complimentary back for Jones all they had to do was re-sign Anthony Thomas and they had about the same thing.

I think I would have preferred to see the Bears trade down a bit and pick up up some extra draft picks, and maybe grab Mark Clayton in the middle-late part of the first round. They should have then picked up a safety in the second round, maybe Bullocks or Pool. I think Bradley was too much of a risk for a second round pick, especially one that high. I did like the rest of their draft, especially picking up Orton in the fourth round considering Rex Grossman's seeming inability to stay healthy for a full season.

As always, its nothing but speculation and opinions. Barring extraordinary circumstances its going to be 3-5 years before we know how well this draft went for our teams.
