Just read an article on ESPN.com about how an 8-year old boy ran into the street yesterday into the path of a truck, and A-Rod pulled the kid back and saved his life. I dont think this will change Boston's opinion of him at all, however. It reminds me of a joke I once heard:
A man is in a park in Boston throwing a baseball with his son, when he notices a rabid dog attacking a little boy. He runs over to the dog and smashes it in the head with a rock and kills it, saving the little boy.
A newspaper reporter walking by sees this act of heroism and asks the man if he can write a story about him. The guy agrees and the reporter says to him, "How does this sound for a headline? Red Sox Fan Saves Boy From Killer Canine!"
The man says, "That sounds great, but there's just one problem. I'm a Yankees fan".
So the next morning, the front page of the paper read, "Bastard New Yorker Kills Beloved Family Pet"
