I read a couple reports (one is on Yahoo) that say he's hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, and is likely going to ask the Eagles for more money. This, of course, coming the offseason after he signed a 6 year 49-million dollar deal with Philly (and consequently before Marvin Harrison signed a bigger deal).

My point is that they just signed him to a deal for $49 million. If I were one of his teammates and the team threw more cash at him for the second year in a row, I'd be pissed. The guy is a cancer, and for all the Eagles fans talking about how he's a changed man in Philly, they will begin to see that they're wrong.

Good point...I know its not right to wish injury on somebody, but when you have somebody who's so unappreciative of the situation he's in, kinda wish Ray Lewis would take his fucking head off...Too bad we have to wait 4 years before they play again

Well..this story doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon. He wants more money and he's not giving in it appears.


If this was MLB I think you'd have a point Freak, but this in a league who does not have guaranteed contracts and shows zero loyalty to their players. If a team can cut you after 6 straight pro bowl seasons at the drop of a hat, then T.O. should be able to ask for more money.

And you have to take at look into this as well, in the NFL your career could be over the next day. It's not like MLB, look at the guy who just died in Arena League. You have to get as much money as soon as possible because your career could be over before it starts. Ki Jana Carter.. is another example of this.

Guys might play really well and get cut because of the cap, but it's not like these guys aren't gonna get paid somewhere else. What the HELL kind of example is Ki-Jana Carter? If he had signed a deal worth a guaranteed $49 million, THAT would be a fraud. The guy is/was a joke, and you're trying to say he's an example of unsympathetic NFL contracts? Please.

Go back and read my post....Ki-Jana Carter is an example of how quickly your NFL career can be over. Yatil Green is another.


That's why I see no problem with T.O. trying to get a bunch of money up front and as quick as possible.

If I signed a 7 year deal in the MLB tomorrow and blew out my knee I'd be covered. You have to look at it from T.O.'s perspective and not the teams. I'm not saying the Eagles are wrong if they don't give him more money, you are saying T.O. is wrong because he wants more money.

I'm saying it's a cruel business, the owners are not loyal and that neither side is wrong.
