If the Jays didn't play in the world's msot ridiculously overpaid division, I guarantee they would have made a couple playoff appearances the last six or seven years. Hell, they're usually right in the running for the wild-card right up until the middle of August or so.

They brought in Koskie and Hillenbard, and brought back Koch, but I'm still not counting on much.

All you have to do is look at the O's. They spend money and still don't have a realistic chance of competing in that div. It's kind of sad sometimes, really, but that's the way it is.

This is the same team that won two World Series in the 90's. Cry me a river about overspending. Its such an old argument.

Arizona, Anahiem, Florida all had low payrolls and won the World Series in the past few years. Just because you spend lots of money, it doesnt guaruntee you anything.

Its all about the management. JP Richardi (Tor GM) has proven that he has a plan and knows its gonna take some time to implement it. Sure if he had 100 mill to play with that would speed up the process but none the less he doesnt so he will play within the guidelines given to him.

I see the Blue Jays as a serious contender for the wild card either this year or next year. They need a little more talent in the rotation.
