Samari Rolle
Chiefs
Redskins
Cowboys?
Mar. 2 - The Chiefs, looking for veteran help at cornerback, were scheduled to meet with Rolle today, according to multiple reports. Kansas City is also interested in Fred Smoot, Ken Lucas and Patrick Surtain, reports The Kansas City Star.

The Redskins have also been pursuing Rolle, but the Washington Times reported on March 1 that the team is backing off because it believes his price tag is too high. However, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Redskins remain interested in signing Rolle and are prepared to give him a $15 million signing bonus.

Rolle, recently cut by the Titans, was an All-Pro in 2000. Rolle's 2004 season was cut short by a knee injury, but he's believed to be fully recovered. The Cowboys have also expressed interest in Rolle.

LaMont Jordan
Jets
Jets
Raiders
Buccaneers
Mar. 2 - With the Jets having used their franchise tag on DE John Abraham, Jordan is expected to have a number of suitors in free agency. The Associated Press is reporting that the Raiders have been in serious talks with Jordan and could announce his signing soon.

The Buccaneers are looking for a dependable back, and Pro Football Weekly reports that Jordan is the hot name floating around One Buc Place. Tampa recently hired former Jets offensive coordinator Paul Hackett, who is more than familiar with Jordan's abilities, both as a runner and a pass-catcher out of the backfield. The Jets still will attempt to re-sign Jordan, but he reportedly wants a significant raise and more carries. "If I do decide to come back here," Jordan told the N.Y. Daily News, "it's because they presented me with an offer that I feel comfortable with, and because I seriously feel like I have a legitimate chance of starting."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Randy Moss
Vikings
RaidersMar. 2 - The Raiders' acquisition of Randy Moss in a trade with the Vikings probably will be announced Wednesday. The swap calls for Oakland to send linebacker Napoleon Harris, the No. 7 pick in April's draft and a late-round pick to Minnesota. The Raiders have asked the Vikings to restructure Moss' eight-year, $75 million contract, a potential hurdle along with the passing of physicals that could delay the announcement until Thursday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Derrick Mason
Jaguars
Ravens
Bengals
Giants
Jets
49ers
Mar. 2 - Mason, the top receiver on the free-agent market, has agreed to a four-year deal with the Ravens, reports ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli. Mason had narrowed his choices down to Jacksonville, Baltimore, Cincinnati and both New York teams. It was believed the Jaguars had the inside track because they recently hired Mason's position coach in Tennessee, Steve Walters. Mason, who was cut by the Titans on Feb. 21, had 191 catches and 15 touchdowns the past two seasons. Despite being slightly undersized at 5-11, Mason is considered a No. 1-caliber receiver.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Dexter Coakley
RamsMar. 2 - Coakley, released by the Cowboys on March 1, has found a home with the Rams, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports. The former Pro Bowl linebacker will sign a five-year, $14.5 million contract and the deal includes a $3 million signing bonus. The Cowboys were hoping to bring Coakley back at a reduced price. Had he opted to remain with the Cowboys, it is likely that Coakley would have played a "nickel" linebacker role. Coakley is projected as a starter in St. Louis.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Edgerrin James
Colts
Dolphins?Mar. 2 - James has hired Miami-based agent Drew Rosenhaus, but there's still a lot standing in the way of James playing for the Dolphins. James was recently named the Colts' franchise player, so the Dolphins would have to give the Colts two first-round picks to sign James.

James could be traded, but the Colts would likely want more than just cornerback Patrick Surtain, who is Miami's only real trade asset. Still, Rosenhaus plans to explore all possibilities. "He'd love to play for the Dolphins," Rosenhaus told The Miami Herald. "And it would be a quick way for Miami to erase the Ricky Williams stuff, and just what the doctor ordered for a young quarterback and a line looking to develop. It sure seems to make sense."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Jeremiah Trotter
Eagles
ChiefsMar. 2 - The Eagles haven't been able to reach Jeremiah Trotter's agent for several days, an indication that the team's offer to the linebacker was unsatisfactory, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. According to the newspaper, a league source said Tuesday night that Trotter's agent, Jimmy Sexton, told Trotter that he'll have to look elsewhere for a better deal. Two league sources have said that Chiefs are prepared to make an offer to Trotter.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Chris Samuels
Redskins
RedskinsMar. 2 - The Redskins have reached a contract extension agreement with Samuels, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports. The five-year left tackle, who has been a starter since his rookie season, agreed late Tuesday to a new seven-year contract worth $46.5 million. By signing Samuels to a new deal, the Redskins have put themselves well under the $85.5 million salary cap, giving them the ability to pursue free agents and make trades.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Laveranues Coles
Redskins
Jets
Ravens
Bucs
Vikings
Mar. 2 - Even though the Redskins have re-signed LT Chris Samuels, recouping $3 million-$5 million in cap room in the process, the much-talked about trade that would send Coles to the Jets remains unlikely, reports ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli.

The Jets were interested in swapping WR Santana Moss for Coles, but the Jets backed away from the deal over the weekend when the representatives for Coles apprised New York officials that their client would likely want to upgrade his contract if traded. Several teams, including the Ravens, Vikings and Buccaneers, are believed to be interested in Coles.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Brad Johnson
Buccaneers
CardinalsMar. 2 - The Cardinals' short list of veteran quarterbacks to compete with Josh McCown includes Brad Johnson, who was cut by Tampa Bay on Tuesday, The Arizona Republic reports. Johnson played for coach Dennis Green when he was with the Vikings, from 1992-1998. The team also has expressed interested in recently released veterans Kurt Warner and Jeff Garcia.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Donovin Darius
Jaguars
?Mar. 2 - Even though Darius has signed the $4.97 million franchise tender with the Jaguars, Darius wants to out of Jacksonville, reports The Florida Times-Union. If the Jaguars elect not to trade Darius, the safety will have no choice but to play for the Jags in '05 or lose almost $5 million. Trading Darius won't be easy. An interested team would have to agree to a long-term contract with Darius, something the Jags have been trying to do for three years.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Jason Ferguson
Jets
CowboysMar. 2 - Unrestricted free-agent nose tackle Jason Ferguson rejected an offer from the Jets and will sign with the Cowboys, reuniting with former Jets coach Bill Parcells, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Ferguson, coveted by Dallas because of his ability to play in a 3-4 scheme, had 59 tackles and 3½ sacks last season.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Gerard Warren
Browns
BroncosMar. 2 - Cleveland and Denver have agreed on a trade that would send Browns defensive tackle Gerard Warren to the Broncos for a fourth-round draft choice, but financial details remain to be completed, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

Those details revolve around how, and how much, Warren will be paid in the final season of his original NFL contract. Denver officials, who apprised Warren's representative of the trade agreement on Monday evening, are to speak to agent Joel Segal on Tuesday in an effort to reach an accord. Another issue that must be addressed is what position Warren will play in Denver as the Broncos switch to a 3-4 defensive front in 2005.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Joe Jurevicius
Buccaneers
Mar. 2 - There's still hope that Joe Jurevicius will finish his career with the Buccaneers. Jurevicius, one of four players cut by the Bucs on Tuesday, might return for another season, The Tampa Tribune reports. "I don't want to write the final chapter to Joe Jurevicius' story just yet," Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen told the newspaper. "We've made an offer to Joe for him to come back."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Wayne Chrebet
Jets
Mar. 2 - Wayne Chrebet has received his $250,000 roster bonus, meaning he might somehow remain with the Jets despite rampant speculation to the contrary, The New York Post reports.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Mike Wahle
Panthers?
Rams
Giants
Chargers
Mar. 2 - Wahle was released by the Packers on March 1, and it won't be long before the veteran left guard finds a new home. Wahle's agent, Neil Cornrich, has already been fielding offers, and according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Panthers, Rams, Giants and Chargers are among the teams interested.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Jay Fiedler
Bears
Giants
Jets?
Browns?
Mar. 1 - Fiedler's agent, Brian Levy, told The New York Post that the Giants and Bears are the frontrunners to land the free-agent QB. The Jets may also be interested, but they have yet to contact Levy. The 33-year-old Fiedler, who was released by the Dolphins on Feb. 23, is considered a No. 2 QB at this stage of his career. His only chance to start might come in Cleveland, if the Browns don't retain Kelly Holcomb.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Seth Payne
Texans
?Mar. 1 - With no immediate plans for talks with the Texans, it appears that nose tackle Seth Payne will become an unrestricted free agent, The Houston Chronicle reports.

"I think what probably will happen is he will go into free agency and make a couple of visits," Payne's agent, Ralph Cindrich, told The Chronicle. "He really likes playing in Houston, and he likes the people there, but at the same time, once you get into free agency, anything can happen." Payne, 30, is recovering from surgery to repair two hamstring tendons attached to his pelvis.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Reggie Hayward
Broncos
Cardinals
Jaguars
Mar. 1 - The Broncos revealed on Feb. 28 they don't plan to re-sign Hayward, leaving the Jaguars and Cardinals as the top suitors for the free-agent defensive end. Hayward is the premier rush end on the market, and with a paucity of pure pass rushers in the draft, will be a hot commodity. Hayward, 25, had 10½ sacks last season.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Fred Smoot
Redskins
Redskins?
Jets?
Mar. 1 - Smoot has been mentioned as a possibility for the Jets, but the free-agent cornerback might not being going anywhere, writes Michael Wilbon of The Washington Post. If the Redskins have ended their pursuit of free-agent CB Samari Rolle, as some reports indicate, conventional wisdom suggests they must find a way to re-sign Smoot. "It all depends on where the numbers fall," a source told The Post. Smoot is reportedly seeking a $14 million signing bonus, which is about $4 million more than the Redskins appear willing to spend.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Gary Baxter
Ravens
RavensMar. 1 - Baxter, an unrestricted free agent, remains optimistic he'll re-sign with the Ravens. According to The Baltimore Sun, two two sides are about $4 million apart on a signing bonus.

Baxter is one of six Ravens starters scheduled to become free agents. Baxter had feared the team was planning to move him from corner to safety, but Ravens officials have denied such a notion. "We have no predisposed plans that Gary is a safety," coach Brian Billick said. "If Gary wants to focus in on corner, we understand that. If we re-sign Gary, it would certainly be to that end. But I'm not going to pigeonhole myself with any athlete to say this athlete will do this or that."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Jeff Garcia
Browns
Broncos
Buccaneers
Lions
Cardinals
Feb. 28 - Despite coming to terms with Brian Griese on a new contract, the Bucs remain interested in Garcia. According to The St. Petersburg Times, the Bucs have offered Garcia a contract and Garcia, who has always been intrigued by the prospect of playing for Jon Gruden, is close to accepting it.

"Jeff is strongly considering Tampa Bay," agent Steve Baker said. "He met with Coach Gruden knowing that they had reached a deal with Brian Griese. I'd say there's a 50 percent chance he goes there." Garcia, who was released by the Browns on Feb. 22, met with the Bucs, Lions and Broncos at the NFL combine. The Cardinals are also believed to be interested.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Brian Griese
Bucs
Buccaneers
Lions?
49ers?
Feb. 28 - Brian Griese agreed to restructure his contract with the Buccaneers on Sunday, helping the team alleviate its salary-cap problems. The Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times reported the quarterback's deal is worth $32 million over five years. "There is a long-term agreement, and it will be signed in the next few days," team spokesman Jeff Kamis said. Griese was in jeopardy of not returning because he was due a $6 million roster bonus on Wednesday. Redoing his contract will save the team more than $4 million under the salary cap.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Patrick Surtain
Dolphins
ChiefsFeb. 28 - The Chiefs are interested in Surtain, but the Dolphins must lower their demands before Kansas City will talk seriously about a trade.

"It's in the hands of Miami," Chiefs president Carl Peterson told The South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "They're looking for a draft choice. And it's also in the hands of the agent, who's looking for a big contract. We've talked, but the number is too big.

"If it gets reasonable, then fine. The first part is do the dollars make sense? Now they're a little high." Surtain, sensing the Dolphins may not be able to structure a long-term contract extension to keep him, asked to be traded last month. Surtain is entering the final year of a contract that pays him $6.15 million in 2005 and has a cap number of $8.383 million.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Orlando Pace
Rams
Giants?Feb. 28 - Rams coach Mike Martz told The New York Daily News he has no intention of trading Pace, even though the Rams called the Giants last week to gauge their interest in the Pro Bowl left tackle. Pace, the Rams' franchise player, is slated to make $8.4 million in 2005. Any team interested in Pace would likely want to negotiate a long-term deal before making a trade.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Trevor Pryce
Broncos
?Feb. 28 - The Broncos have decided to shop Pryce, and as many as 10 teams are interested in acquiring the Pro Bowl DE, reports Pro Football Weekly. However, after the first week of free agency, the number of potential suitors could drop significantly. Salary-cap concerns (Pryce has a cap number of $9.16 million for '05) and age (Pryce turns 30 in August) are among the leading factors in to Denver's decision. The team also plans to switch to the 3-4 defense in 2005, and Pryce is better suited for the 4-3 alignment.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Kurt Warner
Giants
Bears
Cardinals
Feb. 28 - Looking for a veteran to challenge QB Josh McCown, the Cardinals are interested in signing Warner, reports the East Valley Tribune.

Warner is looking for a team that will name him the starter from the outset, much like the Cowboys did with Drew Bledsoe. Although the Bears have Rex Grossman penciled in as their starter, they are willing to give Warner a chance to compete, according to The Chicago Tribune.

"There's no difference between the Kurt Warner who was in St. Louis, he just needs the pieces around him," Warner's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told The Tribune. "When he had time to throw last year, he won." Other teams looking to add quarterback depth include Cleveland, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Tampa Bay and New Orleans.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Travis Henry
Bills
Cardinals
Feb. 28 - Even though the Bills have given the Cardinals permission to arrange for Henry to visit, a trade between the two teams doesn't appear imminent, according to The Arizona Republic.

"We haven't had any talks beyond that," Buffalo president and GM told the paper.

It was previously reported that the Bills are working on a trade that would send Henry to Arizona in exchange for offensive tackle L.J. Shelton, who visited Buffalo and took a physical. However, because Henry has only one year left on his contract, the Cardinals would like to have him signed long term before pulling the trigger on a trade. Another hurdle could be Cardinals coach Dennis Green, who has always preferred speed over power backs. Henry might not be well-suited for the style of offense Green wants to implement.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

L.J. Shelton
Cardinals
Bills
Rams?
Buccaneers?
Bears?
Feb. 28 - The Cardinals have granted Shelton permission to seek a trade, and the left tackle has high value now that Walter Jones has signed a new contract with the Seahawks.

Shelton's most likely suitor appears to be Buffalo, but the Cardinals might be backing away from a proposed Shelton-for-Travis Henry swap because Henry has only one year left on his contract. Shelton recently visited Buffalo and underwent a physical. The Rams, Bucs and Bears are also reportedly interested in Shelton.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Rod Gardner
Redskins
Buccaneers
Ravens
Vikings
Chargers
Feb. 28 - Laveranues Coles isn't the only Redskins receiver on the trading block. The Washington Times is reporting that team is also trying to move Gardner. Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Minnesota and San Diego appear to be the teams most interested. The Redskins probably will trade him for a middle-round draft choice.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Fred Miller
Rams?Feb. 25 - The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that the Rams have had discussions with Miller's agent about signing the veteran right tackle. Miller, who was released by the Titans on Feb. 22, began his career in St. Louis in 1996 and was the starting right tackle on the Rams' Super Bowl championship squad in 1999. Miller signed a six-year, $24 million contract with Tennessee following the '99 season. "It'd be fantastic if Freddie could be reunited with the Rams," Miller's agent, Harold Lewis, told the paper. "He would love for it to happen."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Kelly Holcomb
Browns
BrownsFeb. 24 - The Browns are hoping to re-sign Holcomb, an unrestricted free agent, reports The Cleveland Plain Dealer. With only youngsters Luke McCown and Josh Harris under contract, Holcomb should see plenty of playing time in '05. The 31-year-old Holcomb started two games for Cleveland last season. He would likely draw interest on the free-agent market, but his history of injuries could concern some teams.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

CBs?Feb. 23 - Now that the Cowboys have addressed their quarterback situation by signing Drew Bledsoe, the team will turn its attention to other areas of need, most notably cornerback. Samari Rolle, released by the Titans on Feb. 22, heads an impressive list of free-agent corners that includes Baltimore's Gary Baxter, Washington's Fred Smoot, Seattle's Ken Lucas and Atlanta's Kevin Mathis.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Mike Vanderjagt
Colts
ContractFeb. 24 - Vanderjagt hopes to be a Colt for the rest of his career, but he told The Indianapolis Star he has no idea if the team plans to re-work his deal, cut him or let him enter the '05 season in the last year of his contract.

"[Colts president Bill Polian] seemed to indicate to me that I wasn't going to go anywhere," Vanderjagt said. "But honestly, I don't know what's going to happen." Vanderjagt was limited to field goal attempts and extra point tries last season, having his kickoff duties taken away because the team said his leg strength had diminished. He converted 20-of-25 field goals, with a long of 47 yards in 2004.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Steve McNair
Titans
RetirementFeb. 22 - McNair underwent sternum surgery in December, but whether he returns for another season may come down to more than just health. The Titans released six players on Feb. 21, including No. 1 receiver Derrick Mason.

"[McNair] would have to have concerns," Mason told The Tennessean. "He will be looking at a new right tackle. He would have a new tight end [Ben Troupe] that he hasn't played with and two, maybe three, new wide receivers.

"Everything will be new to him." McNair has agreed to restructure his contract to help the Titans get below the salary cap, but the 32-year-old quarterback has yet to make an official announcement regarding his future.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Plaxico Burress
Steelers
Ravens?
Buccaneers?
Falcons?
Bears?
Cowboys?
Feb. 20 - Burress appears finished in Pittsburgh. As an unrestricted free agent, he will test the market and likely be offered a lucrative contract that's too high for the Steelers to match, the Beaver County Times reports.

The Ravens, Buccaneers, Falcons, Bears and Cowboys need help at wide receiver, and one of those teams just might make Burress an offer he can't refuse .

The Steelers probably will sign one of the NFL free agent wide receivers or select a wideout in the early rounds of the April 23-24 draft. "The free agent group of wide receivers as it as stands right now isn't a real deep group," director of football operations Kevin Colbert told the newspaper. "But in the draft, at this point in time, we think it's a good group."

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Offensive lineFeb. 20 - New Dolphins coach Nick Saban doesn't plan to make wholesale changes to improve the team's offensive line, the Miami Herald reports.

"We feel like with maybe the addition of one player, and continue to develop the players we have, that we can actually have a very good offensive line. I think it could be an asset for us next year,'' Saban told the newspaper. "The offensive line is probably the one position you can really develop and improve your players. It was critical we hired … Hudson Houck, who probably is one of the two or three best offensive line coaches in the league.'' Saban previously identified left tackle as a need, and Buffalo's Jonas Jennings is considered a top free-agent option. The team is likely to stick with restricted free agent Seth McKinney at center. Jeno James and John St. Clair are expected to return, and the Dolphins are looking at Vernon Carey as a potential starter. Rex Hadnot also figures to be in the mix.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Joe Nedney
Titans
Titans?Feb. 20 - There's a chance the Titans will try to re-sign cap casualty Joe Nedney, who has mised the last two seasons with injuries, and let him compete for the job against another kicker in training camp, The Tennessean reports. Nedney's current contract calls for him to earn a $1.4 million base salary, and the Titans aren't willing to pay it. Already this offseason, the team has worked out six kickers and could sign one of them.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Junior Seau
Dolphins
Feb. 18 - The Dolphins have invited Junior Seau to return next season, but only if the 36-year-old linebacker agrees to a significant salary reduction, The Miami Herald reports. Seau is scheduled to earn more than $3 million in base salary and other bonus money next season. If they release him on or before March 1, Miami can save $2.7 million against the cap.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Micheal Barrow
Redskins
Feb. 15 - The Redskins have re-signed reserve MLB Clifton Smith to a two-year contract, casting doubt on Micheal Barrow's future in Washington, The Washington Post reports.

"I haven't heard anything of their plans for me. That's not my focus," Barrow told The Post. "The Redskins are going to do what they have to do. I know it's a business. " Barrow, who didn't play last season due to acute tendinitis in his left knee, signed a six-year, $11.6 million deal last offseason. If the Redskins release Barrow before June 1, he will count about $2 million against the salary cap. If they wait until June 1, the move would count $400,000 against the cap.

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Vinny Testaverde
Cowboys
Jets? Cowboys?Feb. 11 - The Jets will likely acquire a veteran QB in case Chad Pennington (rotator-cuff surgery) isn't ready for training camp, and Testaverde's name has been floated as one of the possibilities.

"Now that (offensive coordinator Paul) Hackett is gone, it makes an awful lot of sense," Testaverde's agent, Mike Azzarelli, told the New York Daily News. "Under the right circumstances, he'd love to go back to New York. From our end of the equation, it would be something to look at." Testaverde, 41, who played for the Jets from 1998 to 2003, started 15 games for the Cowboys last season, compiling a 76.4 passer rating. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has expressed interest in bringing Testaverde back for another season, but the team has yet to make an effort to re-sign him.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Jerry Rice
Seahawks
Retirement?Feb. 11 - Rice isn't sure when he'll call it quits, but when he does retire, he'll do it as a 49er, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

"I know it's gonna happen," Rice told the paper. "I'm not saying when, but I will retire as a 49er."

That doesn't mean Rice will play for the 49ers again. He'll likely sign a token contract with the team with which he spent his glory days – a common practice by Hall of Fame-bound players – and then immediately announce his retirement. When will that happen? "I'm gonna sit down, give it some serious thought, see what happens," said the 42-year-old Rice. "I'm gonna leave all my options open."

WHOINTERESTEDTHE SKINNY

Neil O'Donnell
Jets?Feb. 10 - Former Jet Neil O'Donnell said he would listen if the team contacted him about the backup QB job.

"You always listen," O'Donnell told The Star-Ledger. "It has to make sense. I would really have to sit down and think about it. We've been down here (in Tennessee) for seven years. We like it. ... But I haven't heard anything. I haven't been contacted by the Jets." O'Donnell, who turns 39 in July, last played for the Titans in 2003. He spent last season doing television work, although several teams expressed interest in signing him as a backup.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Freddie Mitchell
Eagles
Moving on?Feb. 9 - Freddie Mitchell, who had one catch for 11 yards in the Super Bowl, wonders if he'll be back for a fifth season with the Eagles, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The 26-year-old wide receiver would like to return, but admitted he was frustrated this season by his role in the offense. "... Like they say, the grass isn't always greener on the other side," Mitchell told the newspaper. "I definitely want to be here."

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Hugh Douglas
Eagles
Moving on?Feb. 9 - Hugh Douglas wants to remain in Philly, but the 33-year-old defensive end doesn't think the Eagles will bring him back next season, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

"I'd like to be in their plans," Douglas told the newspaper. "I'm only going to play a few more years, and I'd like them to be with Philadelphia." Douglas will undergo shoulder surgery, possibly next week, to repair a torn rotator cuff.

WHOWHATTHE SKINNY

Anquan Boldin
Cardinals
Holdout?Feb. 9 - Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin could be gearing up for a training-camp holdout if his contract isn't reworked in the next few months, reports Pro Football Weekly. Boldin, who is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, was limited to just 10 games in 2004 (catching 56 passes) due to injury but caught 101 passes for 1,377 yards as a rookie in '03.
