The Carolina Panthers have released wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

Muhammad


The team had until Wednesday to make a decision about Muhammad, who would have been owed a $10 million bonus.

Muhammad caught 93 passes for 1,405 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, his best by far since he joined Carolina in 1996 out of Michigan State.

This guy can flat out play, but I can see how the Panthers wanted to save some 10 million bucks to go after many other needs they have to address this offseason.

They'll have a healthy Steve Smith next year and Keary Colbert looked pretty good in his rookie season. Muhammad has been average at best most of his career. Plus he's like 31 years old. I think its a good move for the Panthers
