An article on SI.com i just read got me thinking about some of the greatest games I've ever seen. Here's a few
With apologies to Simon and the other Bostoners, I'd have to say that Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS is the best game I've ever seen. I mean, it's the biggest rivalry in all of sports, two of the best pitchers of my lifetime starting (Pedro vs. Clemens), Boston jumps out to an early lead, two HR's by Giambi, that sick eighth inning when Grady Little should have pulled Pedro, three shutout innings by Mariano Rivera, and a walkoff homerun by a guy who only played on the Yankees for two months. Just an incredible game
Some others involving the Yankees: Game 7 of the 2001 World Series (a game they lost), the July 2004 game against the Red Sox when Jeter crashed into the stands, and Game 5 of the 1996 World Series (1-0, Pettitte over Smoltz, game ends on a Paul O'Neill jumping catch that saved the tying run)
For other teams that I root for, there's the 20-19 Giants Super Bowl win over the Bills, and Game 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference finals, Rangers vs. Devils
Outside of teams that i root for, I'd say the Rams-Titans Super Bowl is up there. As is the Panthers-Patriots Super Bowl.

I'd have to say 49ers-Giants Divisional playoff couple years back. Niners won 39-38 and my boy Owens racked up 170+ yards with 2 Tds and two 2-point conversions.

lol...your not a niner fan like me....but then I hated when the Giants won on that late field goal 15-13 in the conference championship. so there you go.

I would say, easily, it's the game that got me really really into following sports:
1993 World Series Game 6 - Philadelphia versus Toronto
Bottom of the ninth, two men on, Joe Carter drills a Series-winning homerun off of Phillies closer Mitch Williams. I remember leaping back and forth over the couch in our living room when it happened, for like a good half hour.
Joe Montana used to get knocked out of games left and right vs. LT and that Giants D. I used to get pissed off beyond belief. Also, when the niners lost to the Packers in the playoffs like 3 years in a row. Fuck!. But at least in the '98 playoffs The Pack finally got it on a last second TD pass from Young to, you guessed it, Terrell Owens!!
