I was looking at the NBA Standings for god knows whatever reason and I came across a statistic that makes NO SENSE whatsoever. Check this out....... Toronto Raptors 15-5 @home 3-19 on road Boston Celtics 13-6 @ home 5-16 on road Cleveland Cavs 14-3 @ home 10-12 on road Orlando Magic 14-5 @home 8-12 on road There are more examples but I think you get the point. How can so many teams be so good at home and so flipping bad on the road? There are a few things that may come into play here...... 1. The NBA referee association gives the home team the breaks ALL THE TIME. 2. The road teams party way to hard when on the road and therefore cant put up a good performance. 3. Two many long trips away from their home routine?? I honestly have no idea how so many teams can be Soooooooooo bad on the road. Any ideas??

When you're playing in your own house, you have the loud music playing when your team is getting into a groove, even as play is happening (which is the only of the big four sports that allows that). The crowd also seems to come into play more, both cheering and heckling, and especially waving those balloons during free throws behind the net.

When an opposing player is on the bench, there are fans literally three feet behind them. Also, basketball is a game where you really need your legs to be fresh, so the travel could affect a player's overall strength, especially in the legs, and hurt them when playing on the road

The away players spend all night partying and screwing strange women in hotels. Meanwhile, the home players can't wait to get to the arena and get away from the nagging bitch wife that always wants more money and the 12 kids that won't shut the fuck up. They come focused more and prepared for the game and play better, therefore, the teams win more often.
