Rep Power: 36 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Looks like Lennox Lewis finally grew a pair I just read on ESPN.com that he's coming out retirement, probably to fight Vitali Klitschko For anybody who forgot, Klitschko whipped Lewis's ass two years ago, but the referee stopped the fight because of a cut over Klitschko's eye. The cut was pretty bad but Klitschko was totally in command in the fight. Lewis promptly retired, trying to become the first fighter since Rocky Marciano to retire as reigning heavyweight champion. But, apparently, hes being offered 21 million pounds (roughly 40 million dollars) to fight again

Rep Power: 41 ![]() | That just over one year ago, and Lewis has denied these reports, much to my shagrin. Unfortunately I can see Lennox pounding the shit out of Klitschko providing he puts some decent training in, as we all would know anyways. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() | I think its a dumb move by Lewis to be fair, I think he'll beat VK but he doesn't need to, hes made his money and lots of it, he should retire, spend his cash and bang his wife. Theres no reason to take one punch to many and end up a washed up has been trying to cut it. |

Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() | Associated Press - January 23, 2005 LONDON - Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis says he will end his retirement to fight Vitali Klitschko in November. "I'm making a comeback later this year," Lewis told the Sunday Mirror, a London tabloid. "The money is up to 21 million pounds ($39.3 million) right now and I simply can't turn that much cash down. "I need the money just like everyone else and it's just too good to turn down." Lewis, 39, retired Feb. 6 with a 41-2-1 record. Klitschko assumed the title April 24 when he beat Corrie Sanders. Lewis and Klitschko last fought in June 2003. Lewis was behind on points when the fight was stopped in the sixth round because Klitschko was cut. That was Lewis' last fight and he was booed out of the ring after a poor performance. The WBC mandated a rematch, but Lewis retired instead. Copyright 2004 Associated Press. All rights reserved. Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() | What gets me is the guy is 41-2-1 and he gets booed like that one fight represented his whole career. So stupid.Just look how boring the heavyweight division is now with Klitschko. If Klitschko loses no one will care, no matter who he loses too. |

Rep Power: 71 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() gXboxLive Leaderboard: 36th | Boxing has been dead for YEARS. I literally cant even remember the last match I watched on PPV. My friends and I used to watch boxing every single time it was available. Not anymore. I suppose if someone was giving me close to 40 million bucks to fight someone, I wouldnt give a shit if my legacy was tarnished. As long as my opponent didnt kill me I would just take the money and run.

Also, the fans booed because he got his ass kicked the entire fight and then won the fight on a bullshit referee's decision. He ducked Klitschko plain and simple. Before the Klitschko fight there was little talk of him retiring, and then he gets a gift-wrapped victory and promptly retires? What does he have to prove? That he's not a bitch and he's not scared of Klitschko. So if he's as great as he says he is, let him step back in the ring and beat klitschko. He doesnt have to do it, but if he really wants to be considered as one of the greats, he's gonna have to end his career on a higher note than that. Oh, and if anyone wants to see a couple of great boxing matches, try getting your hands on any of the Arturo Gatti-Mickey Ward fights. I only saw the first two, but i heard the third was just as good. Best matches i've seen in my short lifetime What boxing needs to do is get one well-regulated federation. Fuck all this WBA, WBF, IBF, WBC bullshit.

Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() | If he is so scared then why is he coming out of retirement to fight him? He prolly would have gotten close to that money for the rematch anyway. I mean the guy is 39 and it is not like he can stay on top forever and there is nothing wrong with wanting to retire as a champ. It is not his fault the ref stopped the match and it is not his fault he won. It just happened and he took advantage of what prolly was a surprise to him that his skills were growing weak and decided to retire. The Arturo Gatti-Mickey Ward fights were amazing and I seen them all at least 2 or 2 times. Arturo Gatti is the man. |
