AFC Championship
Pats vs. Steelers
Steelers have the homefield, they have the win streak, they have a QB who has never lost, and they beat the Pats earlier in the year. To me all of this means nothing. I doubted the Pats once, I'm not gonna do it again. Belichick will have a great gameplan. Brady will make the big plays when he has to. And the most underatted group of guys in the league (Bruschi, McGinest, Vrabel) will do what they always do. Win. It might be close, but we all know the end result.
NFC Championship
Falcons vs. Eagles
The Falcons ran the ball like crazy against the Rams. Yes it was the Rams, but the Falcons have proven most of the season that they can run on anybody. Dunn and TJ probably won't go crazy against the Eagles, but they will probably have their moments and you never know what Vick is capable of. With that said I still like the Eagles without T.O. They are due to win this shit in their own building, the defense will step up, Falcons won't be able to throw, McNabb will make big plays, and so will Westbrook. I'm looking at another close game though and if Vick has the ball under two minutes and the game is in reach the Eagles fans will be pissing their pants.
I think the Pats and Eagles will win, but I really want the Falcons to win

Yeah I'd like to see the Falcons in the Super Bowl to, It'd make the game more exciting, I just got the feelin like the Eagles are gonna pull some shit out of their ass this week.
For all the talk this year about how we're in an era of offense in the NFL, especially in the passing game, the 4 teams still alive are all top defensive teams. More than that, they're some of the best rushing teams teams in the NFL.
The Falcons were the top rushing team in the NFL this year, and I believe the Steelers were second (the Jets might have been ahead of them). The Patriots got 1600 yards from Corey Dillon in less than a full season of work. Only Philly didnt have a great rushing offense, and thats mainly because they had an elite reciever in T.O.
Plus, there was only one close game in the divisional round, that being Jets-Steelers, and the Jets had the league's leading rusher in Curtis Martin and a pretty good defense
So, when you really think about it, the old-timers who preach defense and running the football still know what they're talking about

If The Bears don't win the super bowl, then I'm going to have to say the Falcons after defeating the Steelers.

D, it's been known all along that defenses win championships, even in today's game. The obvious sole exception is the Rams team that won it, but remember they also played all 4 of their playoff games (incl. Super Bowl) on astroturf. The fact does remain, though, that passing statistics are up way higher than they were thirty or twenty or even ten years ago.
