I wasn't refering to the trade. What do you mean by, "So when are the A's going to spend some money? I'm still waiting." In case you forgot, unlike your precious Red Sox, Oakland doesn't buy great players, they make them. I've already been over this with you.

How many times do I have to say it....I'M NOT A RED SOX FAN!!

I'm a Braves fan, I just happen to know a lot about the Sox because I live in Connecticut so all I hear is Sox news. And almost all my friends and family are sox fans. Jesus christ.

And we have been over your A's a thousand times. You said the A's don't need to buy anybody else they got pitching. And then I said they won't have their pitching for long...and it looks like I was right.

If you're a Major League team and you won't even pony up money to keep GOOD YOUNG PITCHING, then the team shouldn't even exist. They are the biggest joke there is.

I'm not gonna judge the A's on these moves until I see how the prospects pan out. It seems that every time they make a "bonehead move" like these, or let a free agent walk, they come right back the next year and challenge in the AL (see Tejada, Giambi, Foulke, Damon, etc.).

I don't see how you can say that you were right. To have lost their good young pitching, they would have had to keep them this year and let them walk as free agents in the off-season. Instead they traded them and replaced them with more good young pitching. I think Billy Beane has done an excellent job considering his situation, and like Freak said, you can't judge these moves until you see how these guys work out. This coming year will probably be a down year for the A's, but they've got all these guys locked up for 5 years now, and if these guys turn out to be as good as they're supposed to be, the A's will keep on winning for those years.

Beane has stated that Zito will not be traded. So don't expect him to go anywhere.

The As have a good core starting rotation and arguably the best farm team in the league. They're not a big market team, their stadium is a piece of crap, and they're on a shoestring budget. Beane has positioned them to do well almost every year he's been there, and most of the baseball pundits are lauding dumping Hudson and Mulder before they walked for free agency, while restocking their already swelling farm teams. If anything, the As need to move to another city where they can get access to a TV deal that will give them some money.
