According to Jayson Stark on ESPN.com, Carlos Beltran's agent wants a 10-year 200 million dollar deal. However, the Astros have only offered 5 years for 70 mil, and even the Yankees have said they wont go much higher than that (5 years, 75-80 mil)

Obviously Scott Boras (Beltran's agent) thinks that this is 2000 again, when A-Rod and Manny signed those ridiculously large albatrosses they call contracts. After Texas got burned on the A-Rod deal, no team is gonna be that stupid to guanteee that much money

I heard there's basically only two teams in the running, Houston and the Yankees

Beltran apparently loved playing in Houston, and is seriously considering signing with them

Both the Yankees and Astros badly need center fielders. Personally, I'd love to see Beltran in the Bronx next year

We will get Hudson. I don't care who the Yankees get. They are done. It doesn't matter what they're lineup look like. I'd take Hudson over Pedro any day (at this point in Pedro's career.) Let's see if Theo can pull this off.
