Marvin Harrison signs 7-year extension...

Looks like Young-to-Rice won't have that record too much longer... also looks like Edgerrin James ain't gonna be in Indy much longer either.

Too bad for Indy...Manning-Harrison-Edge is probably the best QB/WR/RB combo in the league, and might be one of the greatest ever, especially if Edge stays healthy.

I thought 7 years was a bit much for a 30 something year old WR.

But hey, its not my money.

I would tend to agree that its one of the best ever. I was trying to think of some from recent memory and nothing really comes to mind.

The Colts are shooting themselves in the foot by giving so much of their cap space to 2 players. I guess their defense will just never be good.

Montana-Rice-Craig was a good one, as was Warner-Bruce-Faulk in '99. Those were the first ones that popped into my mind. Maybe John Elway-Rod Smith-Terrell Davis as well

Also, even though its a 7-year deal, Harrison might either retire before then or have his contract restructured when his production starts to slip.

Aikman-Smith-Irvin is another.

Anyway, Harrison is one of the top 5 WR's in the league and a Hall of famer to be so I can see why he got such a great deal, but when the hell are the Colts gonna learn that they can't beat the Pats with no D?

Like everyone says, the Colts have no balance so they'll have trouble winning it all. The Patriots have been the best team in the NFL since Brady replaced Bledsoe because they can beat you on offense, defense, or special teams (Vinatieri, Bethel Johnson) Even when they didnt win the Super Bowl, they went 9-7 and just missed the playoffs because of a miracle by the Jets. That was the year the Jets, Dolphins, and Pats all went 9-7 and the Bills went 8-8. Tough division that year

Anyway, the Colts, if the offense is running on all cylinders, can beat anybody, including the Patriots, their offense is that good. And, it isnt unheard of to see an unbalanced team go on a run and win the Super Bowl. Hell, the last three teams to win the Super Bowl besides the Patriots were unbalanced ('99 Rams, '00 Ravens, '02 Bucs). But if the offense isnt working, like in last year's AFC Championship, the Colts are fucked

Yeah the Cowboys had the original triplets... I honestly don't think Edge will be missed in that offense, especially since there's so many good running backs available in the first three rounds of the draft.

As for Harrison, you have to remember that, like Rice, this guy has only been HIT like three or four times in his career. Serious, at the rate he avoids contact he'll probably be a stud well into his late 30's -- and that's not even saying he doesn't take it over the middle.

If the Colts do somehow sign James, their defense will never be good, ever, guaranteed.
