Jason Giambi admits to using steroids
When he testified to a grand jury in Dec. '03, he admitted to using steroids since 2001, the year before he joined the Yankees, and a year after winning the AL MVP.

He also stated that he saw no positive effect on his performance. In fact, look at the numbers, he's been worse since he started juicing!!!

Apparently, when all the "Fat Giambi" pics from that old thread were takn he wasnt juicing yet, according ot the testimony.

this is probably what happened: 2001 was the last year of Giambi's contract with the A's. Despite being the AL MVP a season earlier, he wanted something that would really boost his market value, and he started taking human growth hormone, thinking that if he could hit 30 or 40 homeruns without it, he could probably hit 50 or 60 with it.

He stated that he met the BALCO guy in 2002 (probably just before starrting the season with the Yankees), knowing that it was Bonds's guy. He said he was amazed at what Bonds was doing, and the guy gave him steroids. So, basically, he's been "cheating" his entire stay with the Yankees
