UFC Fans?

Anyone here enjoy the UFC? I still think mixed martial arts are everything that wrestling should be.

These matches have outstanding drama, it can grip you, shock you, and take you to that other plane.

If you have Foxsports you can check it out every Saturday Night, I believe. They actually have pretty good matches on it.

It's a lot like the NBA except a lot more racially diverse.

I think I've only seen a couple UFC matches, but this old redneck at the pool tonight wouldn't shut up about his prizefighter cousin who "knocked out Ken Shamrock" once.

I used to watch them when they first started. I saw like the first 10. Then i saw a match where Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock held each other in one position for an hour and i was bored half to death. that kinda turned me off to it, then my parents "black box" stopped working, and i couldnt watch the PPVs anymore

Yeah, they had to change the rules after awhile because it was far too brutal.

They've changed them a little bit since then and it's not so technical. For me, that's the interesting thing about the sport. You can get great technical matches, great brawls, and great in-betweens.

Matches where they go to the floor and start applying holds to going back up on their feet and kicking the holy christ out of one another are my favorites. They are way better than the pure kickboxing kind of thing.

I have a bit of a weak stomach for this kind of stuff, and UFC can sometimes get a little too brutal for my comfort. Although, I've only ever watched UFC highlight videos so I'm sure your average UFC match isn't as nasty as most of the stuff I've seen.

I love the UFC, except it's pretty hard to come by since I don't have cable, and video stores here aren't very regular with getting in the tapes or dvds.
