This, in my opinion, is a much better game than NHL 2004. Graphic wise, action wise, everything. The only thing I don't like about it is they took out the create a player mode, and replaced it with the World Cup of Hockey tournament. Also, they seem to have fixed those "easy goals" from 2004. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.
I can't remember if I already made a topic about this a while back or not. I have talked about it so much, to so many people, I can't remember who I already told now. Oh well, back to the game...
The game should have all the players trying to get into their respective buildings, but the owners refuse to let them in.

The franchise mode in NHL 2K5 was absolutely atrocious, and I'm honestly considering buying NHL 2005 come Christmas time. If the franchise is anything like MVP Baseball 2004 or Madden 2005, I'm set.

The franchise in NHL 2005 is awful. It is actually a step back from 2004 which a lot of the game seems to be. The one thing I did like about franchise was stuff like in the first home game if you won a conference or the cup there is a cutscene of the banner being raised. But other than that it is just a basic franchise. Madden's franchise is great even if the gameplay sucks but EA doesn't put as much effort into NHL so I would never expect that in NHL. Same with Sega putting a lot more attention into NBA and NFL games.
