Strahan out for the year

In terrible news for the New York Giants and their fans (such as myself), All-Pro Defensive End Michael Strahan is out ofr the season. Let the record show that the Giants were 4-4 after 8 games last season, then lost 8 in a row after Jeremy Shockey was lost for the season.

Even worse, Kurt Warner is still the Giants QB.

I know nobody else probably cares, but I'm upet. Things were looking good for the Giants this year. A solid defense coupled with a resurgent Tiki Barber put playoff hopes in our minds. But Strahan's loss really hurts us, and with 4 tough games remaining (Philly, Atlanta, @Baltimore, @Pittsburgh), it will be tough to make the playoffs.

The funniest moment of last week's game was when the giants had 4th and 1, and wanted to go for it. Warner looked back, saw Ron Dayne behind him, and immediately called time out. He then went to the sideline and probably said "Coach, are you sure you want this guy out on the field?"

Well, I hate the Giants, but with that said I think they will make the playoffs. You have to look at the NFC right now. Eagles, Falcons, Seahawks, Vikings are expected to win their respective divisions. That would leave two playoff spots left with the Rams, Packers and Giants being in the mix. I'll leave the Lions out seeing how I believe we have seen the best of them. The Packers are 4-4 so the Giants have a game lead there. You would think that the Giants would find a way to snatch up one of those two slots with only really three teams in contention.

And by the way, I don't like Warner, I always thought he was overated and he hasn't played well the last two weeks, but you don't know what you can expect out of ELI at this point and at 5-3 the Giants can't afford to take that chance. If they were 3-5, different story.

also, the Giants beat both the Packers and Vikings this year, so they win tie-breakers with those two. So, technically, they're 2 games ahead of GB.

Also, at this point last year, the G-Men were 4-4, then lost 8 in a row. So, you never know what can happen. Talented but underachieving teams like the Packers, Saints, and Seahawks could go on a run...

Minnesota is going no where without Moss, and if they lose to Green Bay next week, my Packers are in 1st. It's nearly impossible to think that GB, after starting 1-4 and looking like absolutely shit, could be leading their division next week.
