| NFL MVP at Midseason So who do you think has the best shot at MVP so far? I've included the candidates I think are in the running, but left a write-in for those bizarre folks who think alternatively. | |||||||||||||||

| I went with Culppper because Owens and McNabb have each other, Manning and Holmes' teams don't have great records, Joey Harrington is why I can't vote for Curtis Martin, the Giants defense is why I can't vote for Barber, and Rothlisberger just isn't quite Culpepper in my opinion. I know Culpepper has Moss, but Moss isn't having that great of a year and Culpepper is still putting up great numbers. | ||||||||||||||

| *needs explanation on Harrington point? Pennington..?* Dude, Moss was having an unbelievable year before his injury. As far as I'm concerned, he is by far the most vital part of that offense. In the two games he's been hurt, Culpepper and the other receivers have struggled because there is a lot less room on the field to work with. Defenses were gameplanning for Moss' short routes, which was hindering his catch/yards stats a bit, but he was getting it done more than ever in the red zone. Furthermore, guys like Burleson and Robinson and Campbell were able to get WIIIIDE open for Daunte. I think Peyton has just taken over the NFL as far as quarterbacking goes, and if Indy makes the playoffs, that should be enough to seal another MVP. I guess my argument about Moss/Culp can apply to Peyton/Marv to some degree, but the way that Manning runs that offense and spreads the ball and just OWNS defenses... that is MVP for me. | |||||||||||||||

| Oops, I had a total brain fart there. I was obviously confusing Pennington and Harrington. Either way I don't give it to Curtis Martin, mainly because I don't believe in giving WRs MVPs. The case can certainly be made for Peyton Manning, and I think he's definately the offensive player of the year. I just get caught up with a team's success when considering who is the most valuble player. Frankly it could go to anyone on that list, but at this point in time I would give the edge to Culpepper. | ||||||||||||||

Anyway, as much as I love Tiki Barber (and he's the main reason why the Giants are 5-2), I'd have to give it to T.O. I hate the guy, but he's been phenomenal, and he's turned a very good team into possiblythe best team in the NFL. By the way, Tiki Barber is on pace for 2500 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs. Just in case he's slipped under the radar a little | ||||||||||||||||
