Firstly, why are Michael Owen, Larsson, Giggs, Gerrard and Beckham even nominated! They have done fuck all this year! Where is Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell after their amazing Euro 2004 displays? Even though this award is generally farcical, in that Zidane wins every year, when clearly it should of been Thierry Henry who won this last year.
This year I'd say those deserving of it, would be Henry, Ronaldinho, Nedved, Lampard, Rooney, and although it pains me to say it, Cristiano Ronaldo. I'll go with Henry though, because he has had a great year and was robbed of this last year.
It's a 2 horse race between Ronaldinho and Henry this year, I'm going to go with Ronadinho because Premiership players never get the respect they deserve, plus Henry had a poor Euro 2004.

I'd go for Ronadinho, watching this guy play live is breathtaking. Henry just doesn't do it at international level. I'd also put Lampard up there, he's been very good for both Chelsea and England.
I'd also agree with DDG I dunno why Ashley Cole isn't on the list. As much as I hate him and Arsenal he should have been listed, he's probably done more than Roberto Carlos over the past year.
I'd put a fiver on Rooney. After his Euro 2004, I wouldn't count him out.

Henry, as good as he is, simply hasn't done it for France at International level. Ronaldinho near enough carried Barcelona to a phenomenal unbeaten run that lasted from March last year until the end of the season. Even now, in a side full of superstars like Deco, Guily, Larsson and E'too, he's outstanding.
Shevchenko should come in at 3rd because he is Mr. Consistency for AC Milan. Absolutely deadly inside the box. Zidane will be well outside the top 6 or so I think.
Adrianos form at Inter has been blistering this season, but this is judged on last season. For me, he and Ronaldinho are the two most exiting players in the world right now.
