Bandwagons

Has there ever been a bandwagon as shaky as that of the 2004 Boston Red Sox?

Seriously, that thing is wavering all over the place with people jumping off and then scrambling to get back on it. A few days ago, you could look at any sports message board and it would be full of comments from Red Sox "fans," crying a river about Francona's managing, or Damon's ineptitude, or Selig's "Yankee bias", or how the Yankees spend too much (that one makes me laugh).

You best not be talking about me Freaky Poo.

You are some what right about Sox fans. But they exist in every city. There are the donkeys that have gone to bed before every game is over and pretend that they stayed up. They dont know players first names or really what position they play.

But like I said, this exists in every city. The city of Boston is known for having with Philly and New York the most knowledgable fans in the game. We bleed Red Sox.

Until you have seen this city, you have no idea.

Ask any person that has gone to a Sox game that isnt from Boston.

I finally played live and it was fantastic.

No I don't mean you; earlier in the year I think you were the one who alluded to Boston's excessive bandwagoners.

It was just like four days ago though that it seemed every Bosox fan was calling for Francona's head, or complaining about how unreliable Damon is (of course I'm sure they'll sell a million of his jerseys tonight online). My favourite example is the wavering support for Derek Lowe -- I'm sorry but the guy isn't a very good pitcher, and it seems most of the time Sox fans agree with that claim vigourously. The once in a while he'll have a nice outing and all of a sudden he's Jesus Christ Superstar.

HAHAHAHAHA... Yeah he's not very good, but he had a great outing tonight. And that's what counted the most... Just like Bellhorn. Bellhorn fucking sucks but he's the reason Boston won yesterday. I was reading people's away messages on AIM that said shit like "BELLHORN IS GOD!" And 24 hours before he hit that homer, the same people were saying "Bellhorn fucking sucks. He should throw himself in a river." I've been following the Sox heavily all season and I think they've given me high blood pressure. The bandwagon fans are the people are in Boston right now throwing fucking flaming barrels at McDonalds. Fucking idiots.

Hah, I've actually always liked Bellhorn. I can probably attribute that entirely to one of my old baseball video games, where I had a 37-game hit streak using him on the Cubs.

I have nothing to say but congratulations Sox fans....If you come back from 3-0 to win, you deserve to win a title.

It's here...And it owns me...It will own you too.

Countless years of losing will leave fans second guessing, calling for coaches head's, questiong if their team will win. It happens, when you lose as much as the Sox do you kind of take losing in stride as a fan. So more than likely a lot of fans are just used to watching loss after loss...
