Plus the overall NBA product is pretty shoddy at best. Its all highlight reel crap. The city of Boston put a restraining order out against Rick Pitino. We don't want him to ever show his ass around here ever again. HE is the reason the Celtics are the way they are today. | ||

| I don't really remember the Bruins and Celtics being all that big. It was so long ago. I remember Bird hanging it up and then Lewis dying and they haven't had a good team since. (Walker and Pierce don't count). As far as the Bruins go, they used to be talked about when the NHL was at a high level of play, with the Oilers and Mario and everything. I think fans just got bored with hockey at first because of the lack of scoring and now don't give ashit at all about the strike. If The Celtics ever get a really good team again the Fleet Center will be jumpin' no doubt about it. They just need a dominent player again. As for the Bruins, first hockey has to resolve this labor issue, and then they have to make it the wide spread high scoring, action-packed game that it once was. As you can see the Red Sox are huge in the city beyond huge, and the Pats are getting one big ass following now with the streak and the championships, people really love this team. Make no mistake, Boston is the best sports town in America. | |||||||||||||||

| From SI.com: The NHL was supposed to open its season Wednesday night, which makes this quote from NHL VP of media relations Frank Brown quite odd. Said Brown about commissioner Gary Bettman, "The only thing that will be different about (Tuesday) in the commissioner's schedule from a normal regular-season opening day is he won't be traveling to Tampa Bay to celebrate the banner raising with the Stanley Cup champions." Gee, good to hear it's business as usual in the commissioner's office. Fortunately he's not disrupting his schedule to, oh, perhaps try to end the lockout. | |||||||||||||||
