Is this team good?

This is from another football league I am in. I missed the draft last weekend and had a beyond awful team since I also forgot to pre-rank. But I have done a lot of trading and free agent signings to improve it. My QBs are still majorly lacking but I think I have done a good job re-building

Offense

QB D. Brees (SD - QB)
QB D. Bledsoe (Buf - QB)
WR C. Johnson (Cin - WR)
WR L. Coles (Was - WR)
WR A. Toomer (NYG - WR)
WR E. Moulds (Buf - WR)
RB P. Holmes (KC - RB)
RB C. Martin (NYJ - RB)
TE T. Gonzalez (KC - TE)
WR/TE P. Price (Atl - WR)
WR/RB R. Gardner (Was - WR)
BN M. Booker (Chi - WR)
BN T. Duckett (Atl - RB)
BN M. Williams (Min - RB)
BN C. Brown (Ten - RB)

Kickers

K J. Kasay (Car - K)

Defense Team

DEF Minnesota (Min - DEF)
BN Carolina (Car - DEF)

Defense Players

D J. Sharper (Hou - DL)
D A. Davis (Cle - DL)
DB G. Wesley (KC - DB)
DB R. Barber (TB - DB)
DL D. Edwards (SD - DL)
DL M. Barrow (Was - DL)
BN P. Surtain (Mia - DB)

Yeah, your QB's are despicable. I can't really judge the rest unless I know how many managers are in your league, and what type of scoring system it is (other than good call with Holmes). Your defensive players look decent too, especially Andra Davis, although I would replace your cornerbacks with safeties if you can. Even bad safeties, as long as they start, should have more value than a guy like Surtain or Barber (assuming Barber doesn't go for 10 picks again).

Freak's right about the safeties. Most CBs are worthless in fantasy leagues, unless you get a lot of points (like 10 or more) for INTs

See if you can pick up Sean Taylor from the Redskins. He's only a rookie, but hes gonna be good

Yeah he's a real playmaker at safety. Besides racking up tackles (which is what makes S's more attractive than CB's), he'll force fumbles and intercept passes and put pressure on the quarterback.

Leagues with Individual Defensive Player scoring are kind of fun on one hand, just because you get a whole other side of the ball to work with, but I find they're also kind of dumb because the highest-ranked defenders are rarely the best defenders, and because stats like tackles and passes defended are so ridiculously impossible to calculate evenly.

There are 14 managers and as you can see larger rosters.

Thanks for the advice about the CBs. I will look into replacing them

Not much I can do with the QBs so I just have to hope. I picked up Gannon as a FA but after last season I didn't have much faith in that and traded him for Bledsoe. I also had Qunicy Carter so he better not sign with somebody  Finally I almost took a chance with Eli but then somebody else signed him while I was considering it.

Edit: Looked into it and I will keep Barber. Tackles are worth two points and Barber had 81 last year so he has potential for a lot of points mixed with INT points. I dropped Surtain for Taylor so hopefully you are right :P

Wow, okay, CBs really are worthless in that system, because the best thing you can do is start a guy who is going to get you tackles... and safeties make a lot more tackles than corners.

I'd think about replacing Barrow as well, with someone who is gonna be all over the field making tackles. If you want to go rookie again, Jon Vilma is a great pick. Look at really bad teams and just take their top tackler, often times it's a guy you don't hear much about.

And you REALLY need to find a quality quarterback for that scoring system, if you lose points for being sacked, throwing an INT, and fumbling at all (not just lost fumbles). You might be better off with an empty roster slot there than Brees or Bledsoe.

Lol, I was just about to write the same thing.

Who is available? With 14 people its going down to deep deep sleepers. Cyrus, if I have learned anything in fantasy football is that you can't get away with a "average" QB. And not for nothing Brees is one of the worst in the NFL. Bledsoe has talent, but is working with a disgruntled running back core, A screwed up OL, and ANOTHER offensive coordinator. That makes like 9 coordinators in like 11 years. Nobody would suceed what that happens.

In week one I got away with Bledsoe and Carter who had 14 points combined.

Then I traded Gonzalez for Testaverde since Gates has been doing good enough that I didn't need Gonzalez as much.

Week 2 I won again with QBs only getting 18 mostly from Testaverde.

Week 3 I only had 8 points from my QBs but still won.

Now I picked up Pittman as a FA since he is going to replace Garner but traded him right away for Collins who will replace Gannon.

My QBs are still average but I am in second place with a 3-0-0 start with 559 points.

As for the rookie you recomended.............. He sucks.

Oh and Barber who is a CB has been getting me a lot of points.

The moral of this story............ I am never listening to you again ;)

This is my lineup now. Bledsoe will be benched next week but Testaverde is on a bye week this week.

Offense

QB D. Bledsoe (Buf - QB)
QB K. Collins (Oak - QB)
WR C. Johnson (Cin - WR)
