I guess you like the Cards, huh?

By the way, I was sitting at the 50-yard line at the game when Pennington broke his wrist last year, and he just happened to be the QB on my fantasy team. Not only that, but I was with my friend who is a die-hard Jets fan (his family had season tix until last year) and also had Pennington on his fantasy team. that sucked

Freak

What did the Bucs do that makes you think they'll be better than the defending NFC champs and a Falcons team with Michael Vick?

So there's like 8 different groups? How many teams are there in this thing?

Mister D,

Yeah, well I know I'm pushing it with the Cards... but these predictions get boring when you go the same route as all the other preseason prediction magazines and stuff. I really think the Cards will be a lot better this year, at least on offense anyway. Green is gonna do some things to that O that shock people this year, and the WRs he's working with are outstanding. I really do think they could surprise.

I'm actually serious about Jacksonville doing well in the AFC South too, their team looks fantastic to me. I think they could do a lot of damage.

DMW,

I just can't look past the players Tampa has on defense. I think getting rid of Sapp will be a blessing, and I've never thought much of Lynch as a DB, ever. Their defense will make some plays this year, that's a guarantee, and I think Gruden will slowly continue to improve the offense. He's brought in Charlie Garner at RB, who he'll be working with for a third time, and he could be a big improvement. Like Sapp, I also think Keyshawn was a hinderance, and Galloway could be the receiver to stretch the field that Gruden has never had. When Brad Johnson has time, he has deadly accuracy, and he'll have a lot of field to work with now that Galloway's been brought in.

I know it seems surprising, but Tampa just has so much talent, and I think they'll do this year, at least part of what they *should* have done last year now that they don't have to worry about Sapp and Key.

I'm still not sold on Carolina past their defensive line, even if Davis healthy. In fact, there's a chance Davis isn't even the best running back on that team. And Atlanta, with Vick, are dangerous... but I need to see them stop a quarterback before I give them any real props.

Disco,

8 x 4 = 32

I just dont see the Pats repeating again. If they do that would be amazing. 2 out of 3 is alright in my books. More would be just fine as well.

If you wanna talk about throwing out different opinions than usual.

I think the Titans will be LUCKY if they go 5-11. They are so f'd up cap wise they will be lucky if they can sign all thier rookies let alone try to fill the voids of Eddie George, Robar Smith and Jevon Kearse. Although all are not as good as advertised they are all pretty decent players when on the same team.

I also think the Jets will either take off like a rocket ship or go 0-4 and fire Herman Edwards. They could go either way but I believe they will have a good season.

I dont know why I picked Pittsburgh in the Central. Only because everyone else sucks too. Bill Cowher will NEVER deliver a championship to the city of Pittsburgh. Soooooooooooooooooo overrated.

I don't think Davis is the best back on the Panthers either. I was lucky enough to get to watch Deshaun Foster week in and week out here at UCLA, and it was definately fun to see. I think he and Davis could make for one of the best backfields in the NFL.

As for the Bucs, I think getting rid of Keyshaun was definately a good thing, but I apparently think more highly of Lynch and Sapp than you do. Sapp was a bit of a distraction, but at least he backed up his attitude. Lynch is just a solid overall player and personality in my opinion. I'm also really not sold on Brad Johnson and I don't think Galloway is going to be a real difference maker. I think if the Bucs finish better than third, it will really be a testament to how great a coach Jon Gruden is.

Truthfully, I have a lot of work to do before I'll be ready for this football season. I'm too big a fan of baseball and basketball to follow all the offseason moves that football teams make. I will say, however, that I think the Raiders will exceed expectations. A healthy Rich Gannon, a healthy Joey Porter, an emerging star in Justin Fargis, along with Wheatley in the backfield should bring the offense back to life. Plus their draft pick Gallery should help shore up the offensive line. On defense they should have one of the better run defences with Sapp and T. Washington up the middle, not to mention Charles Woodson and the Buchanons in the secondary. They also have the two best kickers (Janakowski and Lechler) in the league when they're sober.

Damn, I'm actually starting to get excited about football.
