No wonder everyone hates the Yankees and their fans
i was reading an article on Yankees.com and they made a prediction fo rthe 2nd half of the season: the Yankees will finish the year 15 games ahead of the Red Sox. 15 games!!!!
Now, i could understand if this was a fan site or something...but its the Yankees official website!!!
Even as a Yankee fan, i would have to say there's no way we finish 15 games ahead of a Boston team with Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling, Manny Ramirez, David "the new Mo Vaughn" Ortiz, Nomar Garciaparra, Keith Foulke, and Jesus in center field.
That would mean that if the Yankees won 105 games, the Red Sox would only win 90. no way that happens

That's still a pretty embarassing gap between the 1st and 2nd place teams. The Red Sox would have been much better competition if they got A-Rod. And Derek Lowe isn't helping either. He's worthless.
I was watching an interview with A-Rod the other night. He said that he shook hands with Red Sox management and they had come to an agreement. They were going to finalize things the next morning and the union rejected it. Now the Yankees have him. The only way the can fix this problem is by signing Randy Johnson. That way they can put Lowe in the bullpen. But I really don't see that happening.
Maybe 10. But that's only if the Yankees continue to dominate every team the face, and the Red Sox continue to lose every other game. We'll just have to see what happens.
ESPN had an article today saying that the only teams Johnson said he would definitely want to play for are the Yankees and Cardinals, the two best recrods in baseball right now. The teams that he hasnt ruled out are the Red Sox, Angels, Cubs, and White Sox. Those are the only 6 teams that can possibly acquire his services, according to the article
also, regarding A-rod, I hope everyone in the Boston area realizes he was willing to take a pay cut to come to Boston, and the players union blocked the deal. you guys should lynch Donald Fehr and Gene Orza's houses if the Red Sox dont make the playoffs

The players union in baseball has become quite counter-productive.
I heard the same thing about the teams Johnson wants to play for, but ESPN was also saying that New York doesn't really have the prospects available to make the trade worth while for the D-Backs, and that the Cardinals aren't really in a position where they can afford to take on Johnsons salary.
I can't understand why the A's and Giants aren't on that list. Both teams are in the thick of the playoff hunt this year, and Randy Johnson's hometown is in the Bay Area. Oh well.
Yes I completely blame the union. And I don't blame him for going to the Yankees. With the players we have, we shouldn't have a problem making the playoffs. But the Red Sox are good at fucking up.
