This is a discussion on Who is the next heavy hitter in MLB? within the North American Sports forums, part of the Sports Forums category; I think it is quite easy to say Pujols will take this easily....

Oh, "heavy" like Bonds, well Ortiz already has him beat I think...
But honestly, Pujols is as good a pick as anyone. I really don't imagine we'll see any player garner the reactions Bonds gets any time soon, however, especially if the league cracks down on steroids. Bonds is just unreal.
Pujols is unbelievable and is still vastly underrated by most FANS in baseball. I reckon every GM in the majors would blow a load if they could get a hold of this stud.
Hank Blalock is a stud in waiting as well.
And for 2007 write this name down. Justin Morneau from the Twins AAA team. He is going to be an animal.

Good call. He played very well after the Twins called him up this year

Well Simon, you have to remember. Pujols wasn't too impressive during the World Series. I watched a few regular season Cardinals games and this guy can make contact!
I think Miguel Cabrera will be really really nasty for years to come. That guy is so sick at a early age. Question is, who will he play most of his career with, Yankees or Red Sox?
