Wakefield always kills the Yankees (except for that one pitch to aaron Boone), so it was big that we won last night, especially since Pedro goes tonight against a rookie making his 3rd major league start.

I agree with Simon, the Red Sox will be the wild card team.

Yup I look at it that way too. The Red Sox should kill the Yankees according to the pitching matchup. But the defense will fuck up somehow.

Arroyo doesn't deserve to pitch against the Yankees at the rate he's pitching. I have to work tonight so I won't see the game, but hopefully they can pull the game off tonight without making an error. I guess Kevin Brown was supposed to pitch tonight, but he just wasn't ready. So this is a gift to the Red Sox. That, and I'm pretty sure Giambi is still out of the lineup. If the Sox don't win tonight. they better sit down as a team and figure out what they're going to do. Because they're slipping fast.

yup, giambi and brown are both still out...and i'm almost 100% certain its Pedro tonight

its tough to call a july 1 game "must-win", but this is as close to a must-win as you'll see at this point in the season

It is Pedro and I do agree. It is a must win. They are calling for Franconas head here in Boston. People are chanting "Where is Grady?" in the streets. Its mayhem.

Just thought I would toss that out there. Since none of the soccer fans will most likely read this.

If soccer was the only sport on earth, I would hate sports.
