Also Freak, the only people that care that Tampa in is the Stanley Cup here in the States are Hulk and Horace Hogan.

I don't know one person, (literally) that will be watching the Stanley Cup.

As yes, you are correct. Slipped my mind. Winnepeg is Phoenix now. My bad.

So that's two Canadian teams that folded like accordians. Where's the love for hockey in Quebec and Winnepeg? Shouldnt they be able to support themselves without the lousy Americans Ida?

Lol, you don't buy it because it doesn't back up what you said. 2 teams might seem like nothing to you but to us it was a huge loss.Yes hockey does mean a lot to us. Sadly, it is how and what we are most known for because they don't take 2 mins to find out more.

In the simplest terms...It's called shitty corrupt ownership (Shenkarow), a horrible Cdn dollar, and small market teams unable to compete with larger ones. Like a mom and pop store attempting to compete with an American corporate conglomerate.

Simon if you have ever been to either Quebec City, or where I'm posting from...WinnIpeg (spell it right bitch) then the love for the game and coverage of it would blow your chowder-eating beanass out of your seat.

Contraction of low revenue producing-sunbelt teams (back down to 21) and a league wide salary cap, NFL-style is the only way to save the league.

Simon, how in the hell can you even try to argue hockey? You're so out of the loop it's almost painful to read.

If you read my comments they are all tongue in cheek.

I don't really know much about the NHL today. But what I do know is that Boston in itself was one of the Original 6 teams, had a HARDCORE following, with myself fully included for many years.

If you ask anyone from around this area, (and yes I am only really speaking for Boston) they will tell you that they don't give two shits about the NHL or much for the Bruins anymore. Its just kinda sad to see the MAJOR decline in interest around here.

The papers don't talk about em much, and the people of the city rarely ever talk about the Bruins. I listen to sports radio about 6 hours a day and the NHL never comes up.

Again, my only point was that the overall interest in the sport is in major decline and when you start losing cities like Boston, Chicago and Pittsburgh then yes even the mighty teams of Canada will feel the ripple effect.

Like hell that was your only point. Had it been your only point I would have had no problem, and I would have agreed.

You're sitting here trying to argue why Canadian teams are leaving Canada, and throwing out completely irrelevant statistics about attendances actually growing (whoa, larger arenas... what a concept).

And my point about Tampa being excited and led by Canadians was a reason why ratings in CANADA will be even higher.
