Ed Jovanovski
Scott Niedermayer
Chris Pronger
Wade Redden
Robyn Regehr

Forwards

Mario Lemieux
Kirk Maltby
Brenden Morrow
Brad Richards

--------------------

Looks like a good team. However, I think Nash should have got a spot on the team. I would have also liked to see Theodore as a goalie. I am also wondering about Yzerman and Lemieux because of their injuries. Wonder if they will be able to play or not. Bertuzzi is a good player but I am glad he is not on the team.

Yeah they are usually that big. Twelve of the forwards, six of the defence and one goalie will usually always end up playing in a game. One other goalie will be dressed on the bench. And then everybody else is backup in case on injuries, bad playing etc.

I believe there are going to be 15 playing and 24 total. This in no way is the final team. The deadline is a bit away I believe. Bertuzzi still has a chance to make the team. The guy shouln'tsuffer for the rest of his life for what he did. For now they are leaving him off the team but he is a great player and would be a good asset. You know the guy isn't going to fuck up like that ever again.

Why would the only have 15 playing? That means they will only use three lines :?

Between Draper, Maltby, and Morrow, only one of these players should have been selected, maybe two. But having Draper and Maltby there, is a joke. Yzerman shouldn't have been there, but he and Lemieux both require medical clearance to play. Hopefully we'll see Bert added to the team in the future...

Man that is STACKED! It's funny how no other country makes as big of a deal of this as Canada does. I love it.

I don't know if I would have gone with Maltby. Lemieux was an ovibious pick. As far as im concerned, he is still possibly the best player in the world. He's got an amaizing presence on the ice.

I like the goalies, anthough ive always been more of a Guiguire fan than a Luongo fan. Brodeur the starter?

Iginla is gonna be huge! Imagine him and St. Louis on the same line? They should take Bertuzzi and Lecavlier.

Sweeden is gonna be our biggest threat this year i think. Alfredsson and Mats? Oh man.

I would have liked to see Bertuzzi there, but I realized there was no way he could be included. Just too much controversy with the investigation, and the fact he'd have to co-exist with Sakic, Blake and Foote. Also I don't think Gretzky would risk slapping the CHA in the face like that.

I really would have liked to see Nash over Gagne, McCabe over Regehr (as good as RR has been), and maybe Kariya over one of the checkers. I think Kariya is a guy perfectly suited for international hockey, no matter how bad he's been in the NHL lately.

*edit* I just remembered the World Cup is North America-style hockey, so scrap Kariya.

Oh yeah, IdaMAN, they'd be insane to dress just 15... they will dress 12 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies. And this is in all likelihood the final team, except for maybe Yzerman, who I could see possibly being replaced by Lecavalier, if his eye doesn't heal right. There will be no one taken off the team for any reason besides injury.
