| Embree's got an ERA well over 4 as a relief pitcher, he would struggle to make appearances as a member of the Anaheim staff. | |||||||||||||||

| Congratulations Simon, you actually looked something up before you posted. Quote:
I never claimed that Colon and Washburn had had great years, but they have been looking very good lately. Like you said, you probably haven't been watching much of the Angels this year, but I live in LA and it's either them or the Dodgers, that's all the baseball I get regularly. I've been watching them a lot and they are looking really good. In his last six starts, with the exception of one bad start in Seattle, Colon has been lights out 5-0 1.75 era 0.78 WHIP 7.5 K/9 This team that you claimed had "ZERO pitching" is fourth in the league in era. Not to mention being second in team defense and first in batting avg. You guys better get your runs early because if you're losing after 6 innings, the game is as good as over.

DMW is right about you being wrong. P.S. I've said many many times that I disagree just to disagree, but I don't talk out of my ass.

Let's hug it out bitch.
| Actually Freak. People that know baseball know that a relief pitchers ERA is quite irrelevant, especially if they are a situational reliever. Do me a favor. Look up some relievers ERA's. The real real good ones have ERA's 3 and under. The fact that you guys are giving me shit about Alan Fucking Embree is hilarious. he is like the 23rd person on our roster. Its not like I was touting the guy as Gagne or Rivera. I just barely mentioned his name. And my deepest apologies you said "well above" 4 not "way" above 4. Same friggin thing. You should go into politics. | |

| I didn't say Embree wasn't good. He is good. But he's an average pitcher. Nothing special. His numbers mean nothing in the post-season. I've seen him make many mistakes. That's fine during the regular season. But there's no time for mistakes in the post-season. They do need Embree and I think he will prove to be of some use. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. You're talking like the Angels are horrible and this is going to be a walk in the park. It's not! Pedro needs to get his shit together. I'm not worried about Schilling or Arroyo. Pedro and Wakefield make me a little uneasy though. | ||||||||||||||

And stop talking like you're one of these renowned "people who know baseball" (what the hell is that?)... why would ERA not matter for relief pitchers? I did look up a bunch of good RPs and all of their ERA's hovered in the 1.50 to 3.00 range... I don't understand your point. None of the Angels' big three are over 3.00 either... I'm not trying to argue Alan Embree with you here, just trying to reason with your distorted logic of everything non-Bosox related (screw that, everything, period).
