The Olympics

They're 3 months away, and does anyone care?

I can only speak for myself, but it seems here in America, the Olympics are merely an afterthought. whats it like in other countries?

One interesting thing to watch for is how the U.S. does in basketball. The U.S. has long been the dominant nation in basketball, especially once professionals started playing. But other nations have been catching up. In fact the U.S. only placed 6th in last years world championships, and there are a ton of European and South American players currently in the league.

Also, some of America's best have backed out of the tournament, including Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Tracy McGrady, and Vince Carter

Also, its pretty funny how the Olympic Stadium isnt even close to being complete. Way to stay on top of things, guys...

one of the few reasons to watch the Olympics is for boxing, because a lot of famous boxers get their start at the Olympics. but the boxing coverage is usually terrible

another thing i hate is when you will be watching one thing, then the commentators are fuckin talking about another event. its like lets concentrate on one thing at atime. and i hate when they fuckin cut the event off during the middle of it to show somehting else.

It's getting pretty hyped here in Canada. I can't wait. The Winter Olympics are usually a much bigger deal though. Were already planning an after party for when Canada wins double gold again in hockey.

We're not gonna win double gold if Gretzky tries to keep in tact the 2002 team, I'll tell you that. I get the feeling he might keep the old guys around too, just because he's such a nice guy, but that would be a huge mistake.

If Joe Thornton, Rick Nash, Dany Heatley, Todd Bertuzzi, and Roberto Luongo aren't on the 2006 squad, it'll be a travesty.

And I don't think Canada has followed the summer games since Donovan Bailey lost his mojo.
