Today is the last day of the first month of the season, so in case you guys havent been checking out the league, here are the standings:

Things of note:

DMW is in first place, largely because of the presence of that beast named Barry Bonds in his line-up

After winning fantasy football despite not knowing anything about the sport and not checking his team all season, The Crock is in 2nd place despite not knowing anything about the sport and hasnt checked his team since the season started

Bouchie, on the other hand, knows nothing about the sport and hasnt checked his team all year and is in last place

Simon got off to an absolutely terrible start, but has slowly pulled himself outof the cellar

Man, how the heck did Crock beat us all in football when he knew nothing about the sport? I, as you mentioned, know nothing about baseball so I should be in first place according to the Crock theory.

I got off to a terrible start due mainly to completely forgetting about it.

Also, I wasn't able to draft my own players leaving me with garbage. The additions of Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera (who none of you donkeys picked up) will bring to the promise land.

I have and still don't really understand how the pitching works. Do you only get points for each day? Could I therotically add/drop players each day to insure starts everyday? I don't get that at all.


I do know this. I know baseball.

There is a maximum innings pitched limit, which prevents you from picking up and dropping players every day just to pick up K's and W's. Thoeretically, you could do it, but you would reach your maximum innings pitched halfway through the season and wouldnt get any more points

Also, if you did that, you would be picking up some shitty pitchers, so your ERA and WHIP would go up, negating the effect of getting more Wins, saves, and K's

as far as the scoring is concerned, its cumulative throughout the season. So, whoever has the most total team wins gets the maximum points (8), whoever has the second most gets 7 points, etc...all the way down until the prson with the least wins, who gets one point. And with ERA and WHIP, whoever has the lowest of these gets the most points.

I do wish that we were eligible to have more reserve players. My SS is hurt right now but dont want to pick up a mid level replacement for only a couple of days and then have someone pick up the guy I had to drop.

Also, I like this format. I don't usually play this style of fantasy baseball. My league is all head to head.


Where is the list of all the rules? I couldnt find it anywhere.


Also, If this picks up and people actually follow it, i would be interested in getting a CBSsportsline sponsered site next year. I will pick up the tab if people are interested. Any donations will be accepted but not required.

This Yahoo site is just to vague on where to find shit. If anyone here is in a CBSportsline league, you will know exactly what I am talking about.

Actually my pitching has more to do with it. I've had far and away the most K's for quite a long time. I also have two solid closers on 2 good teams (Rivera and Isringhausen) so I'll always be near the top in saves. Plus with Ortiz, Husdon, Zito, and Halladay, I'm always going to have a good number of wins and a decent era.

Of course having Barry Bonds doesn't hurt either.
