Really? I dont follow college FB too closely, but i thought Jackson was a RB in the Jamal Lewis mold: A big, strong, inside runner who needs 25 carries a game. I also thought I heard Mel Kiper say that he wasnt a big part of Oregan St's passing offense, but that he was excellent at picking up blitzes in passing plays. I could be mistaken though, since I dont follow the college players too closely, and I heard so much about so many different players today, i might be getting confused.

also, the pessimist in me says Roethlisberger becomes the next Ryan Leaf. Quarterback from a non-powerhouse school, widely considered the second best QB in the draft (each were behind a Manning, as well), whose biggest attribute is size and arm strength. Sounds eerily familiar to Ryan Leaf

and the Giants took an O-lineman in the second round. Woo hoo!!!

Nah, Jackson got something like 45 balls for the Beavers last season. He is a workhorse back though too like you said, he carried the ball A LOT in college. That's actually one of the knocks against him, that he took too much abuse from carrying the ball so much, and that he will have a short NFL career.

I honestly have never seen Roethlisberger play, but I can see why you'd make those comparisons. One enormous factor you have to consider when comparing the two is that Roethlisberger actually has a conscience, and common sense, and head on his shoulders with a brain inside. I don't expect him to start for Pittsburgh until maybe as late as 2006, ala Pennington.
