Its because us Pats fans are just as clueless as the rest of the world when it comes to what the Pats might do come draft day.

After the draft for the past 3 years people around Boston were questioning his picks all the time. That is until they all produced big time on the field. Nobody questions the Belicheck ever around here. He is like Vince Lombardi here.

There is a saying used quite a bit by Pats fans.

"In Belicheck we trust"

I wish I had that kind of faith in Mike Sherman, but he just does some things as a GM that scare the piss out of me.

Eli getting drafted by the Chargers provided one of the most awkward photo ops I ever seen. That was awesome.

Yeah that was pretty hilarious.

In my opinion the Giants got absolutely raped in that deal with San Diego. Especially considering they had another offer on the table where they could have moved down to 7 in a trade with Cleveland, where Rivers could have been had as well. The Giants better be confident about their chances this year, because that 2005 1st could end up huge.

Great pick of Wilfork for the Pats.

I was very suprised the Pats got Wilfork.

Jackson to St.Louis. Didn't see that one coming.

Gallery is huge.

Yeah, Freak is right. What the hell were the Giants thinking? They gave up way too much to get someone that isn't that much better than the guy they drafted. I think they really just wanted that name Manning in New York.

I would like to see who the Pats get at 32. A Corner would be nice.

Update: Your Packers just got Carroll (cornerback). Just what the doctor ordered Freak.

I dunno how to feel about the pick. Carroll is small and quick, which is completely unlike the standard Packers DB, but maybe that's a good thing considering the way our secondary played last year.

Thats EXACTLY what i was thinking

i wanted them to take Sean Taylor once Gallery went to Oakland. i think theyre gonna regret it. Manning better end up being incredible

Detroit just got Kevin Jones with the 30th pick, to add to Roy Williams. i guess i can forgive them for trading out of a spot to take Kellen Winslow now

Why the hell did Dallas pass on Stephen Jackson? That, i didnt understand

Also, i dont think Jackson is a good fit in St. Louis. he wont fit into Martz's pass-happy offense

Actually Jackson was by far the leading candidate to succeed in a passing offense, as he is the only back of the top three or four who has established himself as a good receiver. That said, running back is a position where rookies can be very effective right away, and sitting behind Faulk for at least a year might not be too great for Jackson.

Manning is gonna have to be unbelievable after this whole fiasco, or New York is just going to bury him alive. Just from interviews and stuff, I get the impression that he's a total geek/nerd/square, and I don't see how he could be a leader. He's got tools though, and there are weapons around him now.

Dallas, though that 2005 1st could end up paying big dividends, was stupid to pass on Jackson. I think they expected to have Perry fall to them, and now I expect they're looking at Greg Jones, but you just cannot pass up on a complete back like Jackson when you have absolutely nothing else to work with at RB. And if they go end up with Jones, as good as he is at times, he struggles at all the same things as Hambrick, and disappears every other game. It also seems inane of Cincy to drop down two spots, giving Jackson to the Rams, only to draft Chris Perry at 26 (the fact they already have a great young RB is an another matter).

Detroit has had an unreal 1st round. If I was a Lions fan (and as a Packers fan, I hate the Lions), I would be so ecstatic right now. Roy Williams and Charles Rogers are right on par with Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald as the deadliest young WR combo in ages. On top of that, they get an extra 2nd for trading down one spot, pick up a gamebreaking RB in Kevin Jones, and still have their high 2nd-rounder... frustrates the hell out of me.

I hope Green Bay keeps working on their secondary, because Rogers/Williams and Moss/Robinson are gonna be hungry next year.

So the Pats close the 1st round with a somewhat surprising pick. Watson is guy I would have liked to see in Green Bay, but it's a questionable pick for New England with Graham still in the lineup. Watson is sort of a project with shaky hands, but he's big and strong and fast. Troupe was a safer TE pick there.

I guess Belichick is sticking with the noodle-arm offense, stocking up on ends and little WRs.
