NHL 2004

There was a topic a long time ago about NHL 2004 and ESPN NHL Hockey but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, has anybody who has played NHL 2003 played NHL 2004? NHL 2004 is $39.99 at Future Shop so I think I will get it. The only thing is I didn't like NHL 2003. I liked the NHL games before 2003 though. I heard that they improved it this year so I just want to make sure that is true before I buy it. I already have ESPN NHL Hockey, NHL Rivals 2004 and NHL Hitz Pro so don't tell me I am better getting one of them

2004 is much, much improved. It's about as good as the ESPN game I'd say. The most glaring problem is that there's still way too many shots on goal.

I ordered it on Futureshop.ca since it was showing the closest futureshop to my house didn't have it when I did stock check. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive

There are lots of places here that sell second hand games. I get a lot of mine like that. I get tired of them and just trade them in and get another. I almost got NHL 2004, still thinking about it.

I recently bought NHL 2004 and I must say its one of the best sports games I have ever played.

I am partial to anything that EA sports makes since i have been playing their sports games pretty much exclusively since they have been around.


A cool feature is Dynasty mode where you can pick any team or have a fantasy draft. Then you can go through like 20 seasons to see if you can make it to the GM hall of fame.

I generally fast forward through most of the regular season then play the playoffs since one season would take a loooooooong time to finish, then you can do rookie scouting, free agent signings and trades etc etc.

I am really digging this game, Also I am assuming we are talking PS2 right?


Another game I would strongly recommend for PS2 is James Bond Everything or Nothing. Easily the best 007 game to date.

No I got it for Xbox. I like getting multiconsole games on Xbox instead of GC and PS2. No online play but I already had a lot of that with NHL Rivals and ESPN NHL Hockey. The first thing I will do when I get the game is trade for Kiprusoff since he won't be on the Flames default roster ;)

Is Marc-Andre Fleury in the game? I am confused why he hasn't been in the other hockey games. Maybe they were not expecting him to play when they made the games :?

He might not be in the player's union...i know that is why some of the people aren't in sports games.

That's more than likely the answer regarding Fleury. 2K4 glitches annoyed me so much, I just bought 2K3 to use for my season.

Do they have the Flames red jerseys?

The only one that has them is NHL Rivals 2004 since it came out later than the other games. They just waited to long to reveal them.

Anyway, UPS came today which I wasn't expecting. I thought it would still be at least two days. Anyway, started dynasty with the Flames and it is a lot better than 2003 The fighting is also great. I usually turn fighting off because it is boring but I won't be in this game. :P
