Rep Power: 41 ![]() | Uh Spinoff, there is no way whatsoever that Turek will be playing the remainder of the season in the American League, he cleared waivers and now that McLennan is gone he'll be number two. Parley whom Ive heard very little probably won't even dress. And as far as Sabourin goes, he is pretty good, but very very green, your goalie of the future right there. What I can't believe though is how the Flames haven't even called up Brent Krahn. There's a guy who should be amongst the top 4 on the depth chart. Anyways the Flames did get a little sided on that trade, but don't downplay Chris Simon, that big native can drop em and is a former 30 goal scorer. But what Calgary really needs is a current 30 goal scorer. Kudos on giving away Martin St. Louis for peanuts.[/list] |

Rep Power: 41 ![]() | Um, Saprykin is no where near the type of player Chris Simon is. Size wise Saprykin is 6' 195 lbs, compared to Simon's 6'4 235 pound frame. Saprykin plays a real speed game, with a nice touch of hitting. But I never have seen him drop the gloves, and doubt he ever will. Saprykin is a physical speedster with pretty decent offensive potential, but still small, Simon is a huge fighter with an occasional scoring touch. Quite different. |

| I was thinking Krzysztof Oliwa and said Saprykin Anyway, the last I heard about Turek was that he was going to be playing with the Lowell Lock Monsters in the AHL. That was before McLennan got traded though so he might be back to lose more games for us :? Who has been playing backup for the Flames in their last couple of games? |

Rep Power: 17 ![]() | What would make the Oilers trade their number one goaltender, Tommy Salo, to Colorado? They must think they won't make the playoffs to give up Salo like that.

Rep Power: 17 ![]() | I couldn't disagree with you more. Salo might just replace Aebischer as the number one goaltender in Colorado. And now...Ron Francis has been traded to Toronto.

As far as Salo goes it was destined from last year he'd be gone, Colorado needs a reliable veteran to backup Aebischer and it was evident that Sauve wasn't cutting the mustard this year. Francis is off to finish his career with his hometown Leafs, thats nice to see. They also signed former Caps d-man Calle Johanssen. Man I'm surprised I didn't see the Avalanche gobble up Greg de Vries, they've snagged everyone else up on the map. Nice to see the Sens get yet another quality blueliner to add to the likes of Redden, Phillips, and Chara. I'm getting a good feeling the end of the NHL world is here for a good long time if you look at the trades, marquee players being unloaded for pennies, 4th or higher draft picks and collegiate players who haven't even established themselves. I can't believe the Sharks unloaded Brad Boyes, they lost Sturm for possibly the rest of his career and they trade away their second best prospect in a three-way deal and wind up with Curtis Brown, bizarre. Edit* To accomodate Bouchie's adding of the Salo comment, I highly doubt he'll come close, he's going to push the kid to play better, but if Salo plays like he did flopping around like a deadfish-Hasek-wannabe without the luck, like he did with the Oil, then don't count on it.
