This trade for the Bruins may have been enough to have me jump back on board with them.

For a guy that used to go to about 20 Bruins games a year for years, I havent been to see the Celtics or Bruins in over 4 years. I had been fully disgusted by the Bruins owner and how he went about business. I think Mr. Jacobs finally realized just how many fans he had lost.

So, knowing the B's pretty good but not the rest of the NHL right now. Who are the teams to beat? Do the B's have a legit chance at the Eastern Conference at least?

Either nobody or everybody has a legit chance in the East right now. The Leafs, Senators and Bruins are all battling to the death for the division, and Tampa and Philly are also in the way for 1st in the conference. I haven't seen a race like this since well never. It's pretty safe to say right now there won't be a lot of teams cracking 100 points this year, but a helluva lot in the 90+ range.

As far as the trades go, this is one of the craziest lead-ups to a deadline as well, most of the rumours becoming reality weeks before. Due to the lockout next year, its pretty much a "end of the world" week of trades in the league. Finally the small market, and Canadian teams arent' the ones firesale-ing but rather gobbling up the talent.

Nedved in Edmonton, and Markkanen is back as well which is awesome. It looks like Lowe will be looking to move the sieve Salo pretty soon as well.

Here's the East for you Simone. Man that's a tight race.

1. Tampa Bay 86
2. Philadelphia 86
3. Toronto 84
4. Ottawa 84
5. Boston 82
6. New Jersey 80
7. Montreal 76
8. NY Islanders 73

9. Buffalo 65
10. Florida 65

Edit* This just in Brent Johnson has been shipped to the Coyotes for Mike Sillinger. And Montreal has acquired Wild centre Jim Dowd

Michael Nylander sent to Boston from Washington. I never liked that guy since he walked out on the Blackhawks and demanded to be traded last season.

Just heard that Turek has been placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames.

It really doesn't look like Brian Burke is gonna land the Canucks a forward, unless he's making a play for Miro Satan or Jeff O'Neill.

And guess who is very happy  But I doubt anybody is going to sign him. He has five million dollar contract and is an awful goalie. Maybe Rangers will get desperate for a new goalie

*Sigh* I just had to make a comment about Rangers going after a goalie  Flames made another awful trade. McLennan, Betts and Moore for Chris Simon and a 7th round draft pick. NY also picked up Green from waivers. What the hell were the Flames thinking? McLennan is a good backup goaltender and Chris Simon is crap. The only thing Simon does is what Saprykin is already on our team for which is playing rough. Turek is going to be playing in the AHL. Which leaves Kiprusoff as our starter and that is good. But our backup is now Parley who is not ready to be backup yet or Sabourin who is awful. It's times like these I wonder why I still support the Flames every year.
