Daniel Synder will most likely give Portis too much money like he does to everyone.
I think both parties make out on this deal. Like you guys have said, Denver is a RB farm and seems to produce quality at that position year in and out. Plus Griffith looks like he can hold down the fort quite well.
Correct me if I am wrong but was CB a major problem for Denver last year. And Gibbs does need a decent RB. Trung Candidate and Betts arent going to get it done apparently.
As far as the Jamal Lewis thing goes. I just heard about it last night and I suppose outside of Baltimore it isnt number 1 on the discussion list.
Its all about the Sox here in Boston already. You'd never now that the Patriots just won a superbowl.

ESPN is reporting that the Eagles just signed Jevon Kearse. Plus, the Portis to the Redskins deal is gonna happen. And you know the Cowboys will be better under Parcells next year (easy schedule this year...10-6 record was not an accurate gauge of the team's talent). As a Giants fan, all I can say is:
Plus Teddy Washington signed a reported 4 year 16 million dollar deal with a 4 million dollar signing bonus with the Oakland Raiders.
I would have loved to see Teddy stuff up the middle of the line for the Pats for the next two years, but if Oakland is stupid enough to pay a 35 year old with two broken legs in two years that much money then nice knowing you Teddy.
Bottom Line for the Pats is that they got their use out of him by only giving up a 4th round pick. Would have been nice but I will live.
There is also a rumor that the Pats were approached by Detroit about trading the 6th pick overall to the Pats for 21st and 32nd picks in the 1st. Thus the Pats will take Stephen Jackson.

Matt Millen would have to be drunk to make that trade.
Also, the Ted Washington contract really isn't far-fetched at all, considering how important big DTs are in this league. The super-low signing bonus makes it easy for him to be cut if he ever gets injured, without hurting Oakland's cap.
Green Bay resigned Clifton to a 6 yr, 32 million dollar deal, that makes me so happy. They have enough money to go out now and sign a free safety to shore up the defense for the next couple years, since that's the only position open right now. I'm hoping for Brock Marion.
I think Matt Millen is half retarded so its not unlikely.
4 million is a decent amount for a signing bonus for a 35 year old man. I am just saying I am glad the Pats didnt spend that much money on him.
Little known fact about the Patriots season last year..........In the 6 games that Ted Washington missed for the Pats last year they actually had a lower yards/avg against.

Moss is going no where, and it looks like the Keyshawn-to-Dallas deal won't get sorted out. Garcia should be good for Cleveland, he's got some nice players to work with there.
The Owens situation amuses the hell out of me, simply because I think the guy is a total punk and he deserves to go through this mess. For the sake of Green Bay, I hope T.O. stays with Baltimore.
I just saw on ESPN that Kerry Collins is going to sign a 3-year deal with the Raiders and become their starting QB.
Giants bias notwithstanding, i think this is a great move by the Raiders. Gannon is just way too old, and Collins, though no spring chicken himself, still has a few good years left in him. Plus, when he has protection, Collins can be a very good QB, and the Raiders big O-line, now including Robert Gallery, will be able to give Collins plenty of time. Plus, Collins is a good deep ball QB, so if Jerry Porter is healthy, those two could hook up a lot this year
